I agree with everything but the dumbbells part. Modern adjustable dumbbells like Nuobell and powerblocks are essentially selectorized machines; it's much faster to switch weights than the screw-type models, and they occupy less space than a whole set of hex dumbbells (if space is not an issue, then fine, but that's usually not the case for home gyms).

Great point, that’s the perfect ratio of small space and ease of use especially for home equipment.
