Hello. If you are also going to Da Nang airport, it will not be allowed - 100% sure. I see you are going to Ha Noi, so not a problem. However, be ready to answer a few questions at airport if asked. Worst case - They will keep it with them and will return back to you when you leave the country. (Just came back from Vietnam) Happy holidays!

I suggest you to pre-book, just check in your hotel or travel agents in surrounding areas in Hanoi. If you go directly then you might not get good boats. But going there is certainly a way out of your situation. Whatever the case, please share your experience. 😊👍
