Badlands was probably the most beautiful place I ever visited. When we drove up towards the town of Wall we passed the sunset where the hills were pink, purple, and just stunning. I highly recommend this trip.

Visited in '79, '83, '93, '09, '10. I'm really hoping to go back within the next few years. In '79, '83, and '93 visits, Crazy Horse wasn't much to see, but you can watch videos from 1998 and quite a transformation had taken place. I absolutely love the state of South Dakota!

Love Badlands NP! I've been there several times since I was a kid. Driving west from Sioux Falls, it's amazing how the landscape changes once you cross the Missouri River. South Dakota is a very underrated state.

My favorite part of the Badlands NP is when Tony Hawk skated down the road 2 years ago. A park ranger drove by and recognized him.

Awesome video! Where is a good place to see Milky way in that area? Can we just park on the side of the road and bring a folding chair or we have to hike at night? Do they allow stargazing past midnight? Thanks!

All great questions!! We recommend seeing the Milky Way from Pinnacles Overlook! You can park most places in the park and just find a good viewing area! We were there all night so I assume that you can visit at anytime!

Very nice video with frear information . I have a couple of questions. How long is the parking spot to badlands park ? Can we take a foldable chair to carry and sit over ? Does it have any lights around these peaks to view after it is dark ? Is there a good hotel to stay by closer to this badlands?

The walk is very small! I think you can definitely bring a foldable chair to sit. There is no light in the park so it is great for astrophotography! Lots of good hotels depending on your price point!

Outside the park! No drones are ever allowed in national parks!
