There's no need to differentiate fake prophets from real ones. Your relationship with God has to be personal. You pray to Him and ask Him to guide you, and if He sends a messenger; the message will bring peace. It will resonate with your spirit and can come from ANYONE that God chooses to use. You can go to a real prophet, but maybe it wasn't God's will for you to go that route. He wants us to depend on Him. Once we depend on Him, we won't be fooled by those who are fake. Seek God, fast if you have to, and use discernment about who you share your problems with. Good story.
