@@jelreviews Thank you Sir! 51yrs old have been pushing a mower all my life. New home required a riding mower so I got the ZTS1 42" at the end of Dec. Cannot wait to use it. The time to detail everything was HUGE to a newbie to any mower like this. Again, thank you the visual was priceless! I like to mulch so I did get the Cadet Mulching Kit. You may not be able to answer this but I will not be shooting clipping out the side so I do not even want to attach that part. The mulch kit has the plug that covers the dech hole. If using the plug, I should not need the chut deflector?

Bought my ZTS1 46" in 2022 and still find it fun to mow. I did not add a catcher but added a herbicide sprayer. Mows steep slopes and tall grass. Not cheap but cheap mowers could not tackle places where I have put the ZTS1 46" mower.

Great review, thanks mate! I am looking at the 42" only cause I got a small trailer, so was wondering how fast can that catcher be pulled off and on?
@jelreviews
@jelreviews 10 ай бұрын
In a couple of weeks I'll do up a video on putting the catcher on and off... (I'm travelling at the moment). But it is easy enough, probs takes about 2 mins to either install or remove. Only one bolt to undo, slide out the chute, then it comes off.

Hi, a nice mower indeed. Couple of questions please, does it have the option of fitting a mulch kit? and how is the control up and down the hill steeper than 20? say to 40 degrees? Thanks

Hey mate, awesome review, only item not noted is where the foot brake is, assuming there is one?
@jelreviews
@jelreviews 3 ай бұрын
Cheers. No footbrake on this mower. Take your foot off the accelerator and she ain't moving. It won't roll anywhere on its own unless the handbrake is engaged, and then then disengage the rear wheels with that little lever next to the handbrake.

The deck level index is calibrated in inches mowing height. The ridiculously expensive grass catcher (three times the cost of a good walk-behind) has received horrible reviews. When I get my 42" this month, I will stick to the "extreme mulching" for the bulk of my property and use a walk-behind with catcher for the smaller treed area (as others have done).
@antzanton4842
@antzanton4842 2 ай бұрын
How do you know the catcher is full?

You have an idea how fast it takes to fill up the catcher, and then you have to stop and check, and then empty as you need to.

Hustler xdx has a faster blade speed but both my neighbours have cub cadets it's a great mower but they bog down sum times my xdx with 200 hours starts every time and never bogs down and no mulcher required. It's all about your budget other than that both good mowers.

What do you think about the grass catcher, everyone says it falls apart fast ? Thank You
@jelreviews
@jelreviews 11 ай бұрын
I actually like the grass catcher, but its only good when the grass is totally dry. If there is any dampness, the chute will clog up and you'll be pulling out the grass from the chute by hand. I haven't had the experience of it "falling apart", however there is a small area where the chute hood or lid can come off the hinge on one side due to a small gap (hard to explain, easier to see). A slight fix is needed to prevent this from happening. I might do a specific video on this grass catcher in the near future.

Hello and nice work. I was shopping for a traditional zero turn and saw one of these at the dealer and few days ago and now I’m curious if I should go for it. I have two questions for you please. First, do you find it tiresome turning the wheel back and forth, it looks like it takes a full revolution for a true zero turn. Second, the foot control, is it a bother to go into reverse? It looks a bit off to the side and wondering if it’ll get old, or even if it’s possible to just hook my shoe under the forward pedal and pull back instead? Thanks a bunch for answering, these are things I can’t easily test without driving one. I do think it’ll be great as I have a hill that slopes towards a river and I’m not too keen to dunk a new machine!
@jelreviews
@jelreviews 9 ай бұрын
Hi, to answer your questions - Personally, I don't find the steering wheel tiring to turn at all... in fact, I prefer it over the Lap Bar mower as I can mow with only one hand on the wheel now. Lap Bar mowers will require two hands at all times. And secondly, I did have to adjust to get used to the foot control after using a Lap Bar Mower for so many years, however, it very quickly became second nature. You won't be able to hook your shoe under the pedal as it will require a bit more downward heel pressure than you think. Also, there is a small amount of 'finesse' required in your foot pedal action to smoothly go from forward to reverse. What I mean is that if you are travelling forward, and then suddenly release the pedal - the mower will stop very quickly! That also is for safety. So, to smoothly transition to reverse, you will need to release the forward foot pedal by easing it off rather than just smashing the pedal into reverse. But that is typical on any type of vehicle. Even my Lap Mower was the same. Also, with hills and slopes, these zero-turn steering wheel mowers are advertised to be able to mow 20 degree hill slopes safely compared to Lap Mowers. So, that is something to consider also. Hope that helps and thanks for watching the video!

I bought a cub cadet a few years ago. I loved it until it broke down. Needs a camshaft. 23 hp kohler engine. Junk! What's worse...its a discontinued motor. Can't get parts. Cheap plastic gears in motor to keep price down. Cub cadet won't stand behind their sell. They blame it on kohler. It's not acceptable.
@jelreviews

That hasn't been my experience. I love this beast and the motor is so powerful compare to what I previously owned. Starts every time reliably. And cuts through the thickest of grass even when when. I have had the best experience with this machine. Sorry to hear you haven't.
