I get this idea of “how-to” but I feel like we gotta also give attention to the “what’s stopping me from doing this” rather than the how-to’s. It’s interesting because we live in a time where we have an endless amount of resources and access to plenty of knowledge and assistance than ever before. We get so trapped into doomscrolling because it’s the only world in which we feel control; the virtual world. The way to practice I believe is just to allow yourself to take breaks and schedule times or for how long you are able to be on the screen. Simply just cutting off every distraction honestly won’t work primarily because our minds are so intertwined with being chronically attached to technology, we weren’t meant for this but such is the way people life now. I really do love your point about reading though, reading is such a key aspect because reading requires you to rewire your brain in order to learn and retain the info you are receiving in a more sustainable and meaningful way. I started reading again since childhood as I’m 19, and I’m very ecstatic to delve into psychology and philosophy books, I honestly do agree with the points you’ve brought into this video, I really do think doomscrolling and the only entirety of the social media aspect of the Internet is having worse long term effects because it’s just taking away from our real life skills. Like I said, really good video, I suppose I was just adding my two-sense but I’m just as much of a fan of conversations such as these just as you are expect I’m not posting videos and what-not 😅 Keep it up and wishing nothing but the best for you!

I appreciate you sharing this, and I also believe the only way to actually fix it is by completely removing the root causes of social media addiction and addiction to highly dopaminergic activities in general; I thought bringing some hope to people who are frustrated with this problem could help, I’m looking forward to speak about it in a deeper level in the close future.
