I was going on a trip and happened to be traveling on route through Missouri, and we stopped at a gas station for snacks and potty breaks. There was a huge cage trailer and a lion was in it, on a hot summer day, there water dish has ran out and the poor guy was drooling and panting not looking too good. I went to the cashier and said that the big cat needs more water, his water dish was empty and it's too hot for him. A lady literally was pouring a large water bottle she got from the gas station shop into the cage and that lion was lapping it up as fast as it was pouring out. After the first emptied, she opened the second she had and poured it for the lion. After the second one was emptied, the lion rubbed up against the cage and we got to pet him. He was hot to the touch and i felt bad. He went to go lay down. I hope that the poor guy got more water and shade.

I recognize this zoo. This is Space Farm Zoo and Museum in Sussex, NJ. I've been going there since I was knee high. Since this was shot, they've rebuilt the enclosure for the lions and tigers.
