I had three of these on plastic Tikka stocks before moving them into chassis - they were great. One Tip on the height adjustment. Get into shooting position and slide your head back until you start to see the black ring appear around the scope image (higher magnification helps). From here with your cheek bone on the rest move the rest up and down until the image is perfectly centered, it should be set. Outline the bolt heads with a sharpie and you don't have to worry about doing it ever time you clean. Thanks for video!

@@ReviewThisThing Welcome. If you ever go the route of picking up a chassis, the MDT Oryx will fit you really well. It does have the same limitation with cleaning rods you discussed with this product. Some other ones like their XRS chassis have an adjustable cheek riser ... its still too low but can be easily modified. On another note the Bergara HMR stock cheek riser may be a tad low but they were smart and drilled / tapped the bottom of the adjustment posts, allowing you to screw in a piece of all thread to get your perfect adjustment.

I think a lot of people give up on a gun because it doesn’t fit, and they never realize what the problem is. I made one for my shotgun, but I got lucky with my rifle. It for me perfectly right out of the box.

You're right! In my opinion, if it isn't comfortable to shoot a gun, you aren't going to want to shoot it. You won't be able to relax, and you won't be as accurate. This thing helps a lot!

I would like to thank you for the video for the cva cascade xt . I was thinking about buying one but u was saying that it really did not fit u on the cheeck rest. Well cva came out with the xt long range hunter with the adjustable cheeck well. To make this short i bought one in.308 and love it. Thank u for doing ur videos.

Excellent, unbiased video. All very valid points about a Kydex Cheek Riser, light weight, adjustable, custom molded, colors & designs. Starts at $42 for the Quick Adjustment Knob hardware & free shipping & $46 for the Low Profile Allen Key Hardware shown in the Video (but in Black Kydex). Lowering the Cheek Riser to remove the bolt is fine for me, as I clean under the Cheek Riser as well... lots of Sand in St George, Utah. 😂 I'm a woodworking so drilling holes to make something work for me & help me Stay On Target, I'll do it to any stock personally, 😁. I like using the lowest rings possible to where my scope is not touching the rifle. This always seems to work for me. But I am also 6'3". I can see where this product would work fine for others.

The only thing about this type of adjustable cheek rest for me is that it adds thickness to the side of the stock. This moves your face further from the stock. This will cause you to cant your head to get back in line with the scope. I've always been to to get you eyes as level as possible. If this is not a problem for anyone-great. For me, I prefer to buy guns or chasis with adjustable combs built-in or to use foam and tape on top of the stock so my stock will not get any wider.

The Kydex is only 1/8" thick or 0.125" on the side you mount your cheek, so the cant or moving your face is very minimal if at all , since I also custom mold my Cheek Risers to fit many different stocks for a Great form fit to that specific stock, so it's not like the extra bulky & a one size fits all type of kydex rests or pads. I totally agree about having your eye centered Vertically as well as Horizontally. That's why I'm the only one who molds Kydex Cheek Risers to fit so many stocks & I continue to add to my Stock mold measurements as shown on my website "Stock Options". Chassis are the best choice for certain applications, but are also heavier & not as friendly for hunters looking for a lightweight backpacking rifle, but those that are in better shape a Chassis is perfect. My Kydex Cheek Risers start at only $42 Free Shipping & that's a much cheaper option than a Chassis to help you Stay On Target. With enough taps to hold the foam down, it could be as thick as the Kydex... or at least I've seen many of my customers adding extra tape to hold the foam on the stock.
