Hey Ami I am FMP as well and considering this program. Thanks for doing this video. Hope to help answering this question. 1. What books are needed it for this curriculum 2. Regarding the practicum does liberty help you to find a place of practice or is student responsibility to look for that. I wondering since I not living in Virginia. 3. Is truly a Christian program I am looking into mental health program but with Christian perspective. Hoping your soon response

Hey Dear, i sent at least $800 on books but it only for that first semester. The rest of the semesters mostly focus on clinicals. The books that you will need varies and may have changed. They were not very helpful in finding preceptors. Plan to look for your own preceptors and do this advanced if possible. I did have some teachers that were more faith based and very understanding and helpful. There were a few that didn't but overall, I will say so. I hope this help and good luck with the schooling.

Thank you for the info. Does teachers teach you classes or they give assignments and we do self learning? You said you virtually meet with teacher once a month. I wonder how that works if it is a day and time we are at work.
@aminatakamaradnp10 ай бұрын
I will say it 70% self learning and 30% teachers. The have multiple small class sections that you can choose from that will work for you which helps

Thanks for the detailed info, much appreciated! I recently was accepted in their program and so your video was very insightful. With regards to preceptorship, do you get to choose a location of your choice to shadow?

@aminatakamaradnp Thank you for sharing, and congratulations. I'm an FNP but would like to do Psych DNP. Is that possible to go straight to Psych DNP without the certificate? What did you get your DNP in? Hope to speak with you to get more info about Liberty.

Hello Dr. Kamara! I'm about to begin my first semester in this program. Do you have any tips on how to study for the tests/quizzes? Are they based of the power points, lectures, text book?
@aminatakamaradnp Жыл бұрын
Hi Gabriel, congratulations ! "purple book" the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner review and resource manual was very helpful. It has about 100 questions in the back and Some of our test questions came from that book. And the pocket prep question bank. I made a video on both resources . The PowerPoint were very helpful as well.

@@aminatakamaradnp I am also about to start this program, and appreciate so much your review. I am very nervous about possibly encountering professors that are not understanding and failing arbitrarily for computer problems. Do you have any more advice for this type of issue or is there a way to get help from Liberty IT to prevent these issues?
@aminatakamaradnp Жыл бұрын
@mpage7169 hey dear, congratulations. IT was helpful the few times I needed them. I will say pay attention to the professor that you choose, this particular one was difficult and I heard they no longer work at Liberty.

How much did the program end up costing after all the fees and add on charges? The math initially sounds like 21,000 but I imagine its more like 30k by the end?
@aminatakamaradnp Жыл бұрын
Hey dear, it was around $16k. I am sure this has Increased since.

Hi Ami, I'm thinking about changing to this school. Did u consider the comprehensive exam hard?
@aminatakamaradnp2 жыл бұрын
Hey Faycial, the comprehensive exam was hard but totally doable. I believe you get three trials which helped decreased some of my anxiety.

Hey Ami, How many papers and quizzes did u have per class?
@aminatakamaradnp2 жыл бұрын
Her dear, I can't remember exactly but there were lots of papers, time consuming case studies especially that first semester. I don't remember us having too many quizzes and ones that we had in the second and last semester were not time and open notes (Barkley quizes)
