Those medications side effects are the same as the symptoms they say the medication is supposed to treat. I played cymbals in high school, the box tie used to tie the cymbal strap to the actual cymbal is notorious for loosening and coming apart. I always had to tighten mine after every game/ performance, at one point I marched an entire half time show with the cymbal balancing in my hand. A broke cymbal is when there is a crack up the cymbal. The part that fell was the pad that protects your knuckle and hand from muting the cymbal. It happens! Props to this guy!

Been there done that...I'm a percussion player with a local orchestra who had the same fail....the strap came unknotted from underneath and fell to the floor during Tchaikovsky...deafening crash...the timpani player and I grabbed the cymbal, retied MULTIPLE knots, I found my place in the music again and was able to finish with the rest of the orchestra...worst fail that can happen to a percussionist, but the show must go on...excellent recovery young man!!!
