I agree with 99%. I have a satin steel 2021 1ss 1LE so it’s very close, just missing the blind spot/dual climate/interior lights ect. All things I don’t need. The tire compound and brake dust cons I can’t classify as a con. We bought a track package car. With that comes track package maintenance. I wouldn’t trade the 1LE package to have longer tire wear or less cleaning lol. I 100% agree with the lack of a spot for my phone though! I noticed you asked on another comment about any issues to look out for. The only thing I’ve read on is that the rear diff can have issues due to debris from the break in. A lot of people suggest changing the diff fluid (at the first oil change). I just did my first oil change but didn’t take it to the dealer so we couldn’t get the diff fluid but for the price, I’ll be changing the fluid out on my second oil change
@AverageHero3 жыл бұрын
@Adam Hancock, thanks for the perspective. Like I said in the video, 1SS or 2SS, they are both awesome in my opinion. Happy for you getting the Satin Steel too. You are totally right on and I agree, it’s a track car and I definitely wouldn’t trade that for less cleaning. It was just something I’m not used to but can definitely live with. Good to know about the diff though. I am just under my 1500m break in period and have been taking it easy until I hit that recommended point. Again, thanks for the input and taking the time to share. If you come across any other things in your experience with your car, let me know. Until then enjoy that beast! ✌🏻

Satin Steel gang. Power Stop brake pads resolve a lot of the dust issues. I just turned 1103 miles last night. Also, look into Blackstone Oil Analysis it's 30 bucks and it'll tell you a lot about your engine. Great video, thank! I had a 2017 1SS 1LE, in white, and I loved it. Sold it recently as I married a woman who seems unable to grasp the concept of a manual transmission. Big mistake. Purchased a preowned X5, now everyone is happy. NOT! I put down a deposit (yesterday) on a 2021 2SS 1LE in the shadow gray--again, it's stealthy. But (and there's always a but isn't there) please allow me to comment on a few things. First- The seats. They are biblically good (as is the rest of the car). I'm 6'2", 235, and I fit very well. Granted for those less active types who's mid section is broadening, they will be tight. Second- Sound//Power. Yes it sounds and feels great now. But if you get underneath the car you will notice just in front of the axle the exhaust has what can only be described as a "pinch point". I was wondering about this and it exists for one reason. Chevy builds a car called the corvette/stingray, and this car used the same engine as our beloved Camaro SS 1LE's. So the manufacturer couldn't have the lowly Camaro outgunning the Vette, so they stifled it with this exhaust tomfoolery. Well this wouldn't do for me. So I went to a company called MBRP and got an "axle back" exhaust system. This removes the huge, and very heavy, suitcase looking Camaro muffler, and replaces it with a free flowing system using resonators to manage excessive sound. And when I was having it installed I pointed out the pinch point, and my local exhaust man simply trimmed the factory piping just beyond the pinch. Once completed the sound was slightly louder (slightly) but much deeper and the snap-crackle-and pop effect you mentioned, only got better. Tires- I am in texas and replaced my original Goodyear F1's at 11k because I had driven through some debris in the road and. However I had about 30% tread life remaining. It's all how you drive it. Drive like a 16yo and they last 6k. Drive like you are the one paying the bills and they're really not so bad. MPG- Ironically, this thing got really good milage. Again, if you drive like an adult. I could cruise at 75-80 and get 27-30mpg. Granted, if you trounce on the loud-pedal, those numbers transform to single digits almost instantaneously. Brake Dust- I've got nothing for ya... It just happens. And you'll notice when you wash your car in the driveway that you have to reach inside the wheels and get all the dust that accumulates there as well. To be honest, I mainly went with the shadow gray so the brake dust on the sides of the car isn't as obvious as it was on the white. They say there are pads that throw much less dust, but that makes as much sense as building a 500 hp engine and crimping the exhaust to hamstring it. NOTE: *You'll notice that the nose is low. I mean REALLY LOW and will scrape on thickly painted cross walks if you're not careful. *The doors are about 27 feet long and you will need to park next to a vacant lot so you can open your door wide enough to escape. *Storage is tight. Just put a hinge topped basket in the right hand rear seat as a place to hold your kit (garage opener, and stuff). If you need more room, take the wife's car or the X5. bit within the next few years, as V8's are an endangered species, and will be going extinct from dealerships before you know it.

@ Gary Geer - Thanks for your great input coming from experience.👍 It's really a bummer Chevrolet did this to the Camaro just to "secure" the Corvette. I also like the MBRP exhaust and would install one of theirs if I decided to change the exhaust. Shadow Grey...awesome.😎

I like having the safety features of blind spot monitoring and rear view mirror display. I also love the Bose stereo system when I play music. I live in a hot climate and having ventilated seats is really nice. The other options that come with the 2SS like illuminated door sills, interior lights, wireless console charger for my phone, heated seats and steering wheel are nice too! @nurzrachit7133 Жыл бұрын
Thats actually a rare car man. They made fewer 2021 Camaros than any other year they were built. It was due to the Pandemic interfering with production and the chip shortage. So the overall number is down compared to other years, then as you go up the scale there are fewer of them made. Pretty sure a 2SS 1LE is extremely rare for 21. I found a 2021 1SS 1LE in wild cherry tint coat at a great price and I couldn't resist. I've been wanting to get another RWD american V8 for thirty years. I've got a V8 Nissan pickup, but I enjoy driving and a truck just ain't gonna cut it. I grew up driving V8'S. I've had several.. 73' Nova with a 350; 74' charger with a 318; 78' Dodge Aspen with a 318. I think I just took it for granted back then that they would always be available. So now we're coming down to the end of the line and the affordable v8's are on the chopping block. Ford says they are keeping the Mustang V8, and I hope they do, but I paid less for my Camaro and it's a better car than the mustang GT or the overpriced Dodge's. Anyway, I didn't realize that the 21s were so few until after I got mine. I bought it in the Fall of 22' and it only had 3k miles on it. I searched for when it was actually released off the line because it just seemed odd that it was two years old and had so little mileage. I think my car was built and then sat somewhere until the chips were finished, and then sold in 22' as New, but as a 21'. Anyway, it doesn't really matter to me that much because I bought it to drive it, and not as an investment. I agree with you about the storage space. I wound up purchasing a sleeve pocket that fits between the passenger seat and the center console. It has a hard center and is covered in leather and it totally solved the problem of where do I put my small belongings that need to be in the front and not in my pockets or sitting on the seat. Anyway, just thought I'd add my two cents, and let you know about how few of them were made. You got a future classic bro, as do I and the 1LE is the diamond.

I’ve had 4 Camaros and 2 were 1les. Stock ss is nice because the tires aren’t as expensive, easier to maintain and has the power. The 1le rides a little stiffer, gets more break dust, tires more expensive, and not really a fan of the alcantera steering wheel. That being said the 1le does drive better and looks better. I also got a 1SS 1LE, but the reason is because that's what was available, since I waited so long. But, my reality is that most of the features on the 2SS really don't do that much for me, except for the better stereo. I kinda hate the digital rear view because it messes with my depth perception, and in the rain, it's useless. I like the ambient lighting, but I think I'd forget about it with six months of buying. The memory seat is useless because I'm the only one who drives it. I WOULD have liked the better stereo, but that's about it. A heated seat would be nice but for this car, no biggie. In my DD, yeah, I want heat! These are incredible cars. My last fun car was a '14 C7 Corvette Z51 manual. But this 1LE is more planted, quieter on the road, and just more fun. Hard to imagine ever selling. Maybe when I'm in a nursing home? Thanks for sharing your experience.

@Josh Rosenthal, Oooooh….that is a tough call. Is the ZL1 a ZL1 1LE? 😂 I have talked with a ZL1 1LE owner and a regular ZL1 (both 6th Gen) owner about their experiences. This is what they shared: ZL1 1LE- great track and race car with tons of power and great looks. As a daily driver, it was too stiff for around town driving. ZL1: great power (more than enough) and great ride but wished they had some of the 1LE features like dual mode exhaust and styling. Now these are their opinions and experience as I have not driven or owned the ZL1 beast, but for me, I drive my car every day and wanted a balance of both comfort/style and speed/power which I think the SS 1LE fits my needs perfectly. I still do not regret my decision to get the SS version of the 1LE. If I could have just a weekend car, then maybe 🤔

@@AverageHero nice I’ve owned a 07 Shelby gt a 08 gt 500. The thing is the gt500 the power was insane. It just felt unusable to me but it did have stock tires and I wonder if something was stickier it would hook better honesty my Shelby gt was probably the most fun and it had around 360hp 330torque. Like if money wasn’t an problem I think I would just go 6th gen zl1 non 1le. But I live in northern Michigan and I’m 31 and at best you can drive a camaro 5 months outta the year. You know it’s like eventually I’ll have the money to but a zl1. But it might take another year or two and that’s if they don’t skyrocket in price like everything seems to be doing. Like your ss 1le I see people spinning the tires in 1st and 2nd and at that point I mean how much power do you need? Like sure the zl1 might be over whelmingly cool. But is it even necessary? As far as technology goes ,if they had the options as an individual option i think it would solve the problem for most,If someone wanted a sunroof on their 1le they have to get a 2SS ,if they wanted something as simple as the lights in the interior ,same thing ,2ss ,or just the upgraded radio maybye,2ss once again ,i peraonally dont want all the tech bs ,i like my regular mirrors, so that feature is useless to me ,or really any of that safety bs....Perfect car for me would be a 1SS 1LE with the light feature and bose ,but thats not possible ,so i have to choose what makes the most sense for me,im leaning 1ss 1le at the moment

The law to avoid gas guzzler was written that the car must come up to "normal" speed where most people would shift into 2nd, so thats why the damn skip shift gets me often when I'm waiting for the CAGS eliminator. The law read something to the degree of you had to get to "xx MPH and shift to the 'next highest' gear, and then do a WOT run. Viola. Plus not only do you pay significantly more for the ZL1 you also have to deal with initial “gas guzzler” tax and even worse mpg. WTF is skip shift dude ????
@AverageHero10 ай бұрын
“Shift blocking or “skip shift” is a feature of six-speed manual transmissions added to improve fuel economy ratings in the Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) system by preventing a driver from switching from first gear to second or third as would be done normally. A solenoid prevents the shifter from engaging these gears, forcing the driver to shift from first to fourth gear. The solenoid is computer controlled, and will deactivate if the throttle is opened wide enough, or the car reaches speeds above those typical in city driving” from skipshifteliminator.com

Dude, if you have to lean forward and fully straighten your arm to shift into 3rd and 5th then your seat is too far back. It's a sports car, not a sled on bags.

@D Alexander, Exactly! 🤣😂 If you have to do that, you shouldn’t have a manual let alone a Camaro!✌🏻

1LE being a luxury car as an SS is is bullshit. 1LE should be an LT1 package. It was always a stripper car. 1LE with power seats is horseshit.

you had an SUV before this You don't even know how to enjoy this car and def shouldn't be making reviews on it you don't know what tf you're doing behind the wheel of it

@Bruce Inglis, thanks for your perspective. I disagree. My review is my experience that I am sharing. I don’t claim to be an experienced driver reviewing multiple vehicles comparing what people should or shouldn’t buy. As far as what tf I am “doing behind the wheel of it”, you must live in a small world when you make broad judgments on people you know so little about.

@@AverageHero Well I do apologize I came off so harsh. I appreciate the response also. Glad you're enjoying the car. I have a 6th gen Camaro too. They're lots of fun. Best handling in it's class The 6 speed really engages the driver more too
