He had 3 choices, 1, DO NOT STEAL A CAR 2, Do not run from police 3, when cornered, do not drive toward officers. Thats it 3 strikes, Darwin calls you out.
@joedoe17237 жыл бұрын
all true bob, but understand they shot him to stop the threat to public safety. He tried hard to get back on the streets, and they are obligated to stop that threat. One might ask about why they did not "pit" him. The answer is because it could have involved other innocent cars/people. But once he was corned, they were OBLIGATED to prevent him from returning to the crowded roadways. He could have stopped at any point. So yes, you're 100% correct with your 3 points, but they shot at him for a 4th point: to prevent him from returning to busy streets where he eventually would have caused a serious wreck! Great job to the officers!
@martintheiss7436 жыл бұрын
Bob, you did have those three choices. The reason why people need to die is not because officers are foul creatures who kill at will, but because circumstances make it hard for officers to decide if you are going to just kill them for their profession. I remember in the Sierra Nevada in California there was an LAPD officer who ended up being a county judge. He once cautioned a young man in court that he read the sheriff's report into an incident himself and to his own judgement he felt it merited cause at the LAPD to shoot him to death right there. And I never forgot about that for many years. People don't understand how many officers actually die.

Loved the one the other day in Phoenix. They have a unique chase system with one marked and several unmarked cars. The crap bag focuses on the marked and gets slammed by the unmarked. Usually the use a spear chain to latch into the stolen car. This time the rat thug got out and started shooting at the marked car officers. To his stupidity as an important animal. Three unmarked on opposite side blew the turd away. The marked officers just jumped back in the cars. Pleasure to see the start showing who commits 99 percent of the crime in this country once again. @GrayGray72Gamez4 жыл бұрын
Carolyn M I don’t know the roots of it but I would say you are correct in some way. Their policy simply put from watching pursuits is let it go as long as humanly possible versus let’s do the intervention now while it’s clear. They will not normally pit a vehicle unless it’s on a freeway that they have shut down while every other state will shut it down the very second there is a break in traffic. This is why they result in so many deaths because they just let it go on and on in “tracking mode”, which doesn’t work anymore as the criminals know what it is, until they hit a vehicle who was in the wrong place at the wrong time and either injure or kill themselves or someone else in the vehicle they hit.

If you're interested in statistics, it's not a deterrent. Sure, it makes a certain kind of low-brow tickled, but, apart from that, is also prohibitively expensive. The older I get the more difficult it is to be against it - AJ Freund's parents for example - but it doesn't work.
@zincman19955 жыл бұрын
You want to know why they say it's not a deterrent? What capital punishment (C.P.)? There has been more murders in Nashville, TN in the last 2-3 month along, (not including Chicago, LA, New York, etc), than there has been C.P. since 1950. The theory is unproven until there is C.P. for capital crimes. Since the 1950's, when C.P. existed, has the murder rate and percentages gone up or down. Au, UP; What C.P. ? Until there is C.P. for capital crimes, it is an unproven, unbiased research.
