Hi, I had my test on the 31st of December and got a pass on my first attempt, thank you for these videos, they’re both fun and helpful. :3 I was so nervous that I only had 1 hour of sleep the night before, I waited from mid-July for this test so couldn’t sleep due to anxiety. Initially there were zero slots in my city and I had to make a reservation in a different city to get into the system because you can change the test centre eight times, after two weeks I got on the DVSA’s website at 6AM on a Monday and found a a number of slots. I ate 3 huge bananas though, two shortly before leaving the house, and one five minutes before the test. They really do help a lot and I would 100% recommend a banana or two before you take your test. I told this to my instructor who told another one of his students and it helped her pass too. Anyways, thank you and I hope you have a nice day. ❤

Hi! I recently started watching these. I’m a full-licensed driver and seeing these reminds me of what I was like as a learner. Seeing Gavin being too fast on approach to junctions reminded me of something my instructor used to say to me cos my problem was the exact opposite - I was far too slow and would stop like a couple of car lengths away and then would be slow making progress. He used to say that I didn’t have an ounce of boy racer in me and was a bit of a Sunday driver 😂😂 - these things obviously no longer occur and while Gavin is too fast it still reminded me of this 😅
@lavonnealexander69362 күн бұрын
lol 😂I am Sunday driver too. Definitely not a racer 😂😂😂

Your situation is alot less dangerous than what he is doing thought. Building up confidence is alot easier than getting rid of overconfidence. As long as you werent braking harshly, you were just being a cautious driver
@skilletus7334Күн бұрын
@@nasheeds8218 yeah that’s true! Although I’d argue being too slow can be just as dangerous on certain roads. And you’re right, it was definitely a lack of confidence thing. Gavin will get there :)

Sad to say I'm leaving ALL driving lesson channels on YT, had a proper 'crash and burn' lesson today where I had a sever panic attack/break down at the wheel of the car and the instructor had to stop and cancel the lesson after 15 minutes. Some people just aren't cut out for driving and have to accept that. Toodaloo
@daviemac9925Күн бұрын
You're doing great with the setting off Gavin, now time to do great with the stopping again! Get your foot on that brake properly, one day it's going to be battering down with rain and your shoes are going to be wet, that's when you'll slip off. Good Luck with the Theory Test.

Ok, gavin did well today. There's always room for improvement. Junctions and roundabouts still need a lot of work, but other than that, he's doing good.

I passed my test about 45 years ago. I'm aware of the new (ish - introduced 2022) Highway Code directions on hierarchy of road users. it seems impractical though and I confess I'm not sure what adjustments should be made. For example, at 4 mins 44 seconds, after exiting the roundabout there is a pedestrian and child waiting to cross the road. Should we stop and give way to them? (You didn't and I wouldn't, but I feel like the Highway Code expects us to)
@julianpenfold16382 күн бұрын
Some KZbinrs (Ashley Neal I think) seem to think a roundabout is a junction and you should give way when safe, others like James Simpkins disagree. Other than if you need to stop anyway at a give way on entry where there is a single lane only, it doesn't make much sense to me to deliberately stop for people waiting to cross at roundabouts. It should have been made much clearer.

Brake: Am I a joke to you? :) edit: I understand this feeling. It's because you feel out of control, a lot to do, and you end up thinking you need to rush.

Changing down gears as you brake are your friends. So say you are coming into a 30 and in 6th change to 4th or if going into a 20 from a 60 brake to 30 clutch in change to 3rd clutch up and at 20 give or take

Gavin definitely needs to learn to slow down in some situations. A few times I thought he was going to hit the bikers. Otherwise, he is a good driver.
@nasheeds8218Күн бұрын
He wont be a good driver until he stops being overconfident and actually takes in what she says. He kept repeating the same mistake of going too close to pedestrians and cyclists and not slowing down. Overconfidence especially as a learner is the worst. You are a learner with zero experience, you should be humble 😂
@nasheeds8218Күн бұрын
Why do alot of these lessons feel like the instructor is doing all the thinking for the pupil which makes the pupil relax and drive alot more carelessly. Although its a lesson, i reckon it could help if more control was passed to the learner and only help in necessary

I’ve noticed Gavin always drives so fast and your constantly telling him to slow down. Is this normal these days? 😩

@wrightwoodworkКүн бұрын
@@ClearviewDrivinghe is doing ok and is trying to impress and be as confident as you which leads him into the situation slightly quick. I personally wouldn't be worried to jump in a car with him without dual controls. Yes he would need a couple of quiet words in the ear but I can see he is trying the brain is seeing but isn't processing and end up forgetting to slow a bit more or brake harder.
