I was 17 years old when this was released in 1976 and this song was all over the radio and it quickly became one of my all time favorite songs. I still love this. Thanks!

The Spinners are an American R&B vocal group from the 50's-70's during the Motown era. They had a lot of great songs such as "I'll Be Around", "That's What Girls Are Made For", "Love (I'm So Glad) I Found You", "I'll Always Love You", "Truly Yours", "It's A Shame", "We'll Have It Made", "Could It Be I'm Falling In Love", "One Of A Kind (Love Affair)", "Together We Can Make Such Sweet Music", "The Games People Play", etc. They had a big hit in 1974 with a collaboration with Dionne Warwick called "Then Came You".

Man, Biz...we had it all. Funk, soul, R & B, jazz, blues, rock-n-roll, soft rock, hard rock, acid rock, country rock, metal, progressive rock...you name it...we had it. Every time you turned on the radio, it was all brand new. It was like having multiple ear-gasms...every...single...day. If you haven't already...check out "It's A Shame" by these guys, and "Who's That Lady" by the great Isley Brothers. Peace! ✌😎

The Spinners were one of the leading r&b groups of the seventies. I would recommend "It's A Shame" but you reacted to it already. So instead, check out "I'll Be Around", "Could It Be I'm Falling in Love", "Then Came You", and "Games People Play" along with many others. "The Rubberband Man" was popular with the kids back when "I'm rubber, you're glue" was a thing on the playground. Rubber bands used to be much more common everyday items because they were used to wrap daily newspapers. Newspapers today, where they still exist, are a pale comparison to where they were back when this song was in the charts. Back when, Sunday editions came as thick as a phone book. But then a phone books are pretty much relics from the past as well. At any rate, the rubber bands that came with the newspaper piled up relatively quickly and a kid could amass a large collection of them in a few months. With that many you could wrap them around a core and try to turn them into a ball that actually bounced. But more often than not you could flick them at little brothers and sisters or what not. We used to attached clothes pins to a thin piece of wood to make rubber band guns that we would shoot at each other as we played cops and robbers, cowboys and indians, and various war games running around the yard and the neighborhood.

Wow, I had never heard the extended version before, and that was wild. The radio version was probably half that, but I'm SO GLAD you didn't do the Live version first. It's just way different, but still good, but the studio is light years better.

I remember buying the 45 (vinyl single) when I was about 11 yrs old. I shared a bedroom and a stereo with my two older brothers and they hated it. The oldest brother was into KISS and hated any kind of dance music. A couple years later, KISS released a Disco song (I Was Made for Loving You) and I laughed my ass off!
