You should hear her TikTok cover of (the first half of) Adele's "Love Is a Game". To use the vernacular, it is truly "some next-level shit". [grin] This cover ("Million Miles") made me smile when I first heard it. "Love Is a Game" left me sobbing. (Only the second AJ performance to have that big of an effect on me. The other was also an Adele cover.)

Watching the majority of her cover songs first before listening to her most recent pieces will help you understand why she did the earlier covers. She experiments with different styles and technics with her earlier covers like; It's A Man's World, I'd Rather Go Blind, Valerie and I Have Nothing. The master vocalist she is today at age 16 is due to all the hard work and dedication she put into her craft starting at a very young age. You can really hear it today in everything she does. You haven't heard anything yet. Her current work will just blow your mind. She is just that good now, and getting better. Check out her Tik Tok's. Her A Capella parking garage sessions are crazy good.

This is 12 yo Angelina & her LA guitarist, Ivan Mendez, jamming on a song they just picked a few minutes earlier. She sings it on the fly while reading the lyrics & Ivan follows beautifully. One take & done, rarely a 2nd is needed if the guitarist makes a mistake! As far as I know, she never recorded this again & never sang it in a concert. During this experimental time (11-12), she sang a great diversity of songs, either with a guitarist or with a karaoke backing track. She was honing her skills & man does she have some skills. I find this more beautiful & emotional than Adele's original. This is not normal!!!

From Iowa, USA; 1. An important thing to remember about AJ is that she owns the rights to everything she sings and with aquired permissions for covers of other singers. 2. She refused to sign for a record deal through AGT and they relented and invited her to sing anyway. 3. She began singing at 18 months and due to her grandmothers influence, she was drawn to and fell in love with jazz and blues music. 4. She has been arranging most, if not all of her music performances since she was 8 years old. 5. Currently in 2022 she still performs barefoot, sews her own clothes, (the cloth is designed by her grandmother) and she stands 6 feet tall at 15 yeats old! 6. We all hope to enjoy her performances for many years to come. 7. BTW I'm 80 and have been involved privately in music since age 7.

Biz, you might be doing a mistake. Angelina's cover songs are epic. She improves on the original version and makes the song almost brand new. Is very impressive. You have to react to all the cover songs. You will understand when you watch them all. Angelina is the real deal.

There's only one song that was written for her that I'm aware of so far (actually anxiously awaiting more) "A Song For A", music by Nico Cartosio, lyrics a poem by Robert Burns. She arranges most of the songs she sings, to her own inner voice (most notable are Bohemian Rhapsody, I Put a Spell on You - watch the black & white version when she's 9). She's released 5 original songs so far: What is Life, Oslo, Shield, Million Miles, 7th Heaven.

Thanks for this reaction! When she covers artists she remains true to the artist by adding some of their mannerisms to her singing. At the same time she makes the song her own by adding her own touches and of course her unique voice. She conveys so much emotion when she is singing and manages to bring out the story. When you listen to her cover of Billy Jean the story jumps out which I managed to miss for over 30 years :-) A nice thing to know that these performances with Ivan did not have a lot of preparation: a few minutes to prepare and than let’s do this. You see her glance to the side where the text is probably for her to read. If you want to listen to her original, she has 5 songs to chose from: 7th Heaven, Million Miles, Shield, Oslo and What is life. All very nice and vastly different. The first one is an old school jazz song with a message of hope, Million Miles is about losing a lost one, Shield has Shirley Bassey James Bond vibe to it etc. So just pick one and enjoy :-)

She wrote a stunning song for her grandfather who died. She dropped it right when covid was on fire and many people around the world were dying. She dedicated it to anyone who had lost a loved one. it is truly stunning. Another cover that's truly worthy is Suspicious Minds .. her version of Elvis' song. That's only from two months ago and what she did with that song is a wonder indeed.

“Seasoned”….yes, she has done with her voice in less than ten years starting from before ten, what most singers spend 20 years or more to perfect in their voice. Years of tutoring, training by vocalists teachers etc. She has a natural gift pure and simple. It’s rare and even more rare to recognize it and groom it at such an early age. Kudos to her parents for recognizing her gift or genius and putting her out their and supporting her every effort without fail. She is definitely a star rising!!

As great as Adele is, it's truly uncanny that her personally written ballads are always improved upon by Angelina. Vocally, they are both great but Angelina being a true jazz rooted singer, whereas Adele isn't, allows Angelina's vocals to simply penetrate the listener deeper than Adele. It's as if she calls on nuance and inflections that she learned from Billie Holiday and Billie had a way of just transporting the listener to a magical place in the mind, like no one else I have ever heard.......until Angelina came along with her magic.

Two songs written for Angelina and they are two of my faves. "Song for A" at 12 years old, a classical type song and Angelina delivers an incredible performance (audio only) and "Above the Water" at 14 years old, a fast paced EDM dance song (audio only) but my favorite is a song she demoed for at 10 years old. Uploaded in 2016 and taken down shortly after. Thankfully rediscovered in 2018 and re-uploaded anonymously. It was never released but the writer of the song did release his version in 2018 a month after Angelina's was re-uploaded. It's a spectacular performance at any age but at 10 years old it's mind blowing and many fans believe it would have been a huge hit.
