IWC Portuguese 7 Day 5001-09 Luxury Watch Review

The steel 5001 is a core model for IWC. It's the modern Portuguese in the line; hand-wound variants offer more of a vintage experience. Between IWC's twin pillars, the Pilots and the Portugiesers, I'd chose the latter if I were shopping for a single representative IWC model. Best, Tim

Personally I prefer this watch with the cream watch face and blue hands but either way gorgeous.

It's more dressy, but somewhat sporty

You could dress it up or down I think. The size means you'd need quite a large wrist (>7inch / 20cm) to pull it off as a dress watch.

I really like the looks of IWCs but I wouldn't get another one. They really do need to shave 3-4mm to the height. I can wear a wall clock on my wrist, but a skilled watch maker should be able to make a proper wrist watch, patek can get their watches under 9mm, IWC is doing it at 14mm, that's like an Olympic runner vs me in a race.

Note I said in my opinion, Patek still does have some beautiful casebacks but IWC still has some of the most pleasing casebacks I’ve seen

@@bobbybrainstorm their watches may have quite interesting caseback but its thick. i thought omega was bad but IWC is even worse. and at least omega started to do something about it, but iwc is quite slow in this regard.and oh did i mention they are overpriced brand new? yes, charging premium money for selita movement. thats not commendable from their side.
