Think that Mido Tribute is going to happen for me. Almost pulled the trigger mid Dec. Figured I would wait til Feb when I was better prepared to make the financial jump.

I own the Mido. It is really beautiful. One major flaw is that the lug width is 21mm. Finding suitable straps is difficult.

The Tissot really looks like a younger brother to the Seamaster. I really like the date at 6.

Dear Chris, Many thanks for the comprehensive comparison. Mido is better by far, 40 mm, Day-Date, more dressy, good looking, better dial, nice bracelet and bezel action, with closed screw down back, as a dive watch.

I almost bought the Mido in November. The high polish pushed me away. Love the day/date complication with the color match wheel. It may still happen, who knows. Nice comparison.
@TheKhazar Жыл бұрын
the movements are not exactly identical. Mido sports the C07.6 version whereas Tissot has C07.1. Tissot's version is put into cheaper watches and has plastic escapement fork and wheel, whereas Mido's version has these parts in metal.

Mido looks like a 2K watch, goergeous and so so elegant! The Seastar don’t know why but it reminds me a Tudor from afar mixed with an Oris.

Of all the reviews on KZbin for the Midi Tribute, yours is the only one on the black version. Everyone else reviewed the blue version. The black seem better to me as it match more closely to the original watch from the 70s. Also, the date-day wheel matches the black dial and doesn't break up the symmetry as much.

Love the Mido over the Tissot but I just bought the other affordable Swatch Group luxury diver; the Longines HydroConquest. Paid the same price I paid for my Seamaster to be serviced this summer (yet another Swatch Group product). I should have it by next Wednesday.

The Mido is quite nice.... Good dimensions too... Not crazy about the lack of brushing. I ever like fine brushing on top of the lugs on dress watches when that's available... Not an all polished fan. The Tisso is just another oversized dive watch.... Maybe if I had an eight inch wrist but I might still opt for adding 40mm! Tissot isn't paying attention to the market at all and are leaving a lot of money on the table....Thanks for the video.

In the gray market, with same mesh bracelet, Tissot sea star is 40% plus below mido ocean star's price. Beside price, case size difference and extra date feature from mido are the main deciding factors to get which one.

Better to save to get the Oris Aquis than that Tissot homage. The Mido seems more interesting an original.

Considering the price being more reasonable and having a nice 300 m water resistance, I’m leaning towards Tissot although I like Mido’s vintage inspired design and the smaller case size. I’m planning to visit the boutique to try on the Milanese mesh variant of the Seastar 1000 to see if it does any better than the normal metal bracelet on my tiny 5.9 inch wrist.

Mido just has that outstanding retro vibe. Never been a fan of those overly fat hands on the Tissot. Entire watch just looks cheaper. Glad that it is, lol, but that Mido looks worth it's price and stands out in its design.

Where did u actually buy the Tissot from? I see them on discount but don’t wanna get burned…
@luked27672 жыл бұрын
Prefer the mido but don't like The powermatic I hate that they lowered the beat rate and the ease of adjustment. I love the idea of the 2824 with a silicone hair sprin, better balance wheel, upgraded spring but keep it at 28,800bph and keep the micro ajust screw so you don't need to ajust the balance or replace it to have it regulated. There are some good quality Chinese based 2824 movements with an upgraded 80ish power reserve while keeping 28,800bph.
