I'm glad I sold both my Rolexes - a 16570 from 1999 and a 14010 from 2005. Every time I looked at the Explorer II, I couldn't wait to get rid of it. The blue sunburst Air King was handsome only at certain angles, and only in certain lighting conditions. Generally speaking, it looked quite plain and small. I did kind of enjoy the snobbishness and empowerement that came from owning a Rolex, but disliked everything else, including the brand itself. As far as regrets go, I don't think I have any. Maybe selling both Roli before the massive price inflation. Eventually, I stopped pretending and settled with a few 500 dollar watches that I actually can afford to keep and use as a daily wear. I own the Steinhart Ocean One in black, and one day passed a guy with a Submariner shirt who looked stunned and quite uncomfortable as he mistook it for a Rolex. It made me chuckle how some people make a big deal out of a stupid watch.

I am also not a fan of any Wimbledon dials, neither 36mm or 41mm. But I would disagree about Roman numerals on 36mm. My 36mm day-date in platinum with silver dial and silver numerals looks amazing. As you probably know that day-date doesn’t have a loom. So everything fits just perfect.

Hey Serge! I've been watching your channel from back when you got your Submariner. I ended up getting my 116610LN 1-year after you did and of course love it to death. I know the feeling when you buy another great watch and have a hard time not wearing the Submariner, and I see that the Datejust was that watch for you. I recently acquired the Explorer 1 124270 and I have this weird conundrum where I always find myself wanting to wear the Submariner when wearing the Explorer and wanting to wear the Explorer when I'm wearing the Submariner. It's a funny thing which might mean that I love both. Perhaps one day you will experience the same feeling! Keep up the content Serge, your opinions on watches are on the dot!

Hey Serge - I have been following your channel since you first got your Sub in 2018. I remember getting so excited about the thought of being able to pick one up as you did. I ended up getting mine about a year later. Same model 116610LN. Coincidentally my name is Sergio lol close enough, ey? Anyway, I enjoyed watching this video and hearing how much you still love your Sub to this day is awesome. You’re right, whenever I put anything else on I just wanna wear my Sub. Regret selling my first Rolex which was the AirKing 116900. Also sold the sub you have but have the newer one in 2-tone and really prefer that one.

Take a look at Omega Seamaster 300M with a white dial. The dial is much better than your sub. Just saying, never say never.

Doesn't the 36 feel awfully small compared to the Sub? My wife has a Datejust 36 and it truly looks like a woman's watch on me after being so used to the 40mm sub.

For sure there’s a big difference. However 41 DJ feels even more out of place on a small wrist. Hard to say I wish they made a 39 DJ

The 36 MM Roman is an original scale dial. What did you mean too crowded?
