The balloon part is a part of the performance. They have to use helium now as they no longer use the old practice of castrating very very high signing choir boys to keep the high pitch. Now no one want to voluntarily lose the boys to stay singing so angelically. Big shock.

@@Sam-pv7bd There is a video explaining this where the interview the choir director and he said that helium is used during the performances but just to hit the very highest notes. And if you watch the full performance you see him use it, as by the end almost half the helium is gone. He may not have during that particular part but I am pretty sure he did. I could be 100% wrong though.
