As an Astros fan, knowing fully that they cheated, no one wins from this. Not the Dodgers, who were the better team, or the Astros. I feel like the ones who lost the most, frankly, was the city of Houston. Yes, the Dodgers were trying to make a comeback into glory, but think about Astro fans. We have never even won a title before. Hell, the city of Houston haven't won a title in 20+ years. They have put their fans into a great state of turmoil that will likely last a whole lifetime. Watching this series live (as a Dodger fan, for what it's worth) felt like L.A. played great, but they got beat by an excellent team that was just a little better (that, plus Darvish imploded. twice.) It was disappointing and sad, but that's life. I went into 2018 cautiously optimistic, wondering how cool it'd be to see these two teams meet up again, with the Dodgers finally winning it all. In 2020, I'm just furious. Every hit or walk by a Houston player drives me crazy. Every smile and fist-bump in celebration of a run scored is also just a big middle finger to the rest of baseball and to everyone watching from home. The Astros played us - the fans and all their opponents - for suckers, and they laughed at us while they did it, and then they got away with it. Springer has a ring. Altuve has a ring. Correa has a ring. All of those guys will happily take a few plunkings this year (or next?) as a trade-off for that ring, and they'll probably smile while they jog to first base. Fuck this team.

Nothing can make the cheating right. But how many of these have we watched that had teams cheating? We will never know. But we all know cheating has always been a problem in this sport. Astros weren't the first that we've seen do something like this in the WS. Back in a video during the 70s or 80s a team was getting onto another team because they thought signaling was taking place in the dugout. Edit: I do want to say I appreciate Jomboy and Jake for taking this video pretty much in stride and not beating us over the head with it or being super aggressive about it. They did what they did and deserve their licks but Jomboy and Jake didn't go crazy and I appreciate that from them. Good stuff from the boys.

@MrHeart124 жыл бұрын
@@ST3Di03 just to enforce my point that people have been doing this type of stuff forever heres an excerpt from an article that talks about Rogers Hornsby's book: Rogers Hornsby and Bill Surface wrote a magazine article and published a book, My War With Baseball, in which Hornsby detailed baseball’s long legacy of cheating, sign stealing included. “Every team with a scoreboard in center field has a spy inside at one time or another,” Hornsby wrote, adding that, “Cheating started when they threw out the first ball in the first game ever played and it’s been going on ever since.” So no it wasnt with as good cameras but people have been doing it to steal signs for a long time and if you google MLB sign stealing you'll get to plenty of teams accused of having a system. The red sox caught 2 times, once with apple watches and then this second time with runners on sencond. The only difference is the Astros had someone blow the whistle. Before that they were only accused. No other accused team had someone blow the whistle like Fiers did.
@ST3Di034 жыл бұрын
MrHeart12 stealing signs with runners on second isn’t cheating. That’s ACTUALLY part of the game. Also on the Rogers Hornsby stuff, how would he know that every team ever has had a guy in the scoreboard?

@@ST3Di03 using the replay room in real time to decode the signs is illegal. then they signaled once they had a guy on second. Hornsby and guys in the league know when something is going on. They knew it against the Astros and they have called out other teams in the past. It's been a thing for a long time. The only thing that got the Astros was a whistle blower. No one caught them in the act looking at a TV. No one had heard the cans and figured it out. Had Fiers not said anything it wouldve just been accusations like every other team that's been accused. A pitcher like Jansen doesn't set anything up, really. He's not throwing one pitch off of another. He has a cutter and then he has his other couple pitches he works in every once in a while, but when you face a nasty cutter like Jansen's and he's just trying to get 3 outs, as a hitter you're probably doing more damage to yourself by trying to predict when he's going to come off the cutter. He's a nightmare for lefties because he knows how to work them, just like Jake explained

36:57 Who was that? Oh, just Hall of Famer Dave Winfield. And I'd say he was taking a pic or video of the on field celebration, not a selfie.

Correa's wife was a former Miss Texas and participated in the Miss USA pageant. They were engaged for about 2 years and married in 2019. Verlander had been engaged to Kate Upton for a while leading up to this. Their wedding was scheduled while Verlander was still with the Tigers, so it was scheduled for sometime like 48 hours after Game 7 because the Tigers weren't going to the World Series. Because of the trade Verlander and Upton had to fly out of LA straight to Italy where everyone was waiting for them.

Theory: Correra proposed due to the fact he knew the Astros would most likely win the entire series due to what later would be revealed as the scandal.

Puig one handed off balance poke-hooked the ball barely swung and that thing got out in a hurry. Probably not a home run anywhere else but still dudes strong. If he ever puts everything together....he wont

Just to put in perspective how good that team was, they took the Trashcans to seven games while unknowingly being at a huge disadvantage.

I’ve watched every video of this series since 72. Huge Mets fan, huge Jomboy n Jake fan, but this was the first one I quit after a few minutes in. Love you guys a ton but just can’t get into anything involving the Trashtroys unfortunately. PS Love watchin baseball and all your other content. Look forward to more talkin baseball, sequence, talkin giants, baggage, newlywed game and the works.

Why do the Dodgers fans always blame Darvish for that game 7 loss? The Dodgers only scored 1 run anyway.

Even as a Dodgers fan I loved this series. Such a hard fought and hyped series, I didn't even mind the Dodgers losing at the time because I knew the city of Huston was still recovering from the hurricane. Knowing what we know now it's just heart breaking. This whole series is just tainted to me. Just can't watch it anymore.

This game is the ultimate example of the cheating. Home game that was high scoring. Some people (Max Kellerman in particular) keep pointing out the Yanks' series, but 3 of the 4 games in Houston were very low scoring. Makes no sense unless the pitchers were cheating.

toptenguy1 Also Clayton threw something like 30 nasty sliders and got zero swings and misses. That’s fucking unheard of.
@elcrow1134 жыл бұрын
@@fatshibaballs 51 breaking pitches no swings and misses. I would've suspected something even if I didn't know the were cheating.

If you're not visiting the mound to tell the pitcher "just throw the good pitches", are you even really managing?
