Today we hit the woods for the final days of spring turkey season! We may have seen everything but turkeys, including a slithering snake.. we also get our new bottle baby ram fed and move the chicks from the brooder to the grow out pen. Thanks for watching and God Bless!

I really enjoy watching the 2 of you doing things as a couple. So often, as parents, we forget to nurture the couple because we are so busy with our children. Then, when they are older and gone, we look across the table and see a stranger. We have forgotten what brought us together in the first place. It’s so important to take time, as a couple, to do things together, to refresh “the 2of us”. Too many marriages fail because we forget this very important relationship, the relationship that started the family. Glad you took the time for your shared activity and nurturing your “coupleness”.

80+ years ago my Granddad got bit by a copperhead in the feed room of the milking barn. So, my Dad went searching our 300 acres for King Snakes. He found 3.(dad was a snake wrangler) He put 1 under the house, 1 in the milking barn and 1 in the Horse / Cattle / Hay barn. We never had any more Copperheads or Rattlers around the house and barns. King Snakes are the King of snakes !! Never kill them !! They are our best friends..

Haha just this morning, i heard my tomcat mouse trap go off and went to check it . Well imagine my surprise when i saw a garter snake caught in my glue trap i had set out as well , all in my bedroom of my trailer , well i grabbed him and glue trap and got him outside and was able to pry his head off glue trap and let him go . This is 2nd one i caught with glue trap , first one about a year ago i was not able to save

If you pour vinegar on the sticky trap, you can usually set them free just an fyi.

Turkey hunting takes a lot of patience usually you go early at daylight to catch them coming off of the roost and they see very well so you have to sit very quietly and patiently and call and listen to hear them call back the gobblers will come but sometimes you have to just sit a long time and be still and patient

I saw something you could maybe look up, about wrapping your ankle area with some kind of tape that ticks stick to. When I lived briefly in Missouri, I was using Avons Skin So Soft in my bath water. Unfortunately I didn’t bathe my kids in it. Later I learned and Avon learned, it was a good insect repellent. The ticks didn’t like me, but they did my kids. As I said, we didn’t know it repelled ticks, etc, or I would have bathed my kids in it. I became allergic to it. As I became allergic to all things scented. I tried later to bathe my dogs for fleas but I still couldn’t handle it. Asthma. Just a couple of suggestions.

When I was a kid all of the hunters had to walk.... Your ATV really helps, am sure. What a weird snake. I am not a fan of them either. My family came from a long line of hunters... when you have large families, it makes a huge difference at the table. The gardens too made meals complete also... We knew what gratitude meant, truly gave "Thanks". 😁 Plus Mom was so creative in the kitchen, was awesome all around.... Sewing too... and etc.
