I can not believe this is on something called “pure flix” the racist undertones are disgusting. Not “pure” at all. I’m a Christian and would be so offended by this movie. Not because it “doesn’t show the wrath of God enough” but because we are called as Christians to be loving and show kindness and respect. Demonstrating minorities, impoverished, and those with mental health issues in such a light is so disgusting to me. It honestly breaks my heart that this is what Christians are producing. It’s crap that doesn’t show Gods heart. Also this video was incredible and you’re hilarious.
@alananimus91454 жыл бұрын
That coyote ugly moment when wake up and realize who you are in bed with... I have been watching Hanna and Jake (formerly Hugo and Jake) cover PureFlix since it first came out. And ya. There is a reason why I tend to assume Christians are violent, racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, POS. The fact that PureFlix exists is bad enough, the fact that it is as successful as it is only makes it worse. And it doesn't help that most (though admittedly not all) Christians I know IRL reflect the views of PureFlix. What I find most repugnant however is that Christian KZbin (ie Christian content creators on youtube) either praise the hell out of PureFlix or remain completely silent on it. The fact that parents actually show this crap to their children is disgusting. "Their biggest complaint was that there wasn't enough of 'gods' wrath".

@ITHEREONETHATHASNT I have actually seen a lot of these movies and yes they are absolutely racist as hell. 12:06 is a very common theme throughout most Christian movies. Non-whites are almost always depicted in harmful sterotypes. Additionally Christians are more likely to be racist because racism is doctrinally supported supported. And what proof would you like. People like myself were saying for years that the alt-right was made up of racists, we showed you people piece of evidence after piece of evidence and you brushed it off. We showed you all the evidence that Richard Spencer was a racist and you people defended him continually. Then 1 clip gets leaked, the almighty Ben Shapiro gives one speech and you all pretend like you were calling out their racism all along. If anyone is brainwashed here its you people who defend your god the second coming of Christ Donald Trump and his "grab them by the pussy" sexist, and racist, and xenophobic comments at all cost. There is *NOTHING* unique about you, you special little degenerate delicate snowflake. Facts do not care about your feelings. Gender is a social construct. Sex and gender are not the same thing. There are more than two sexes and there are more than two genders. Genocide even when hypothetically committed by Yahweh is always evil. You throw around "post modern" like its a slur and you don't even know what it means. FYI the "post" in "post modern" is an indication that it is what comes after "modernism". "Modernism" btw was a particular school of thought with regards to philosophy and art that operated on "scientism" as a foundation. So "post modern" means "post scientism". And ya if you want to throw that at me I will gladly embrace it as logical positivism is bunk. As to "hating everything white"... And? I understand it's beyond your smooth tiny little brain to understand nuance so let me just spell it out for you. "White" doesn't exist. It's a social construct and a harmful and destructive one at that. WASP culture is reactionary (this term has a specific meaning look it up), destructive, and counter to good social order. I have seen fascists like you a million times pretending you hold some sort of moral high ground hiding what you really think gaslighting the hell out of people whenever you think you can get away with it. You are nothing more than a sad degenerate holding onto a past greatness that never was.

Mxlky way when I finally figured it out I laughed pretty good 😅
@StephanieLeighG4 жыл бұрын
Mxlky way I don’t want to answer for her, but in my experience, the biggest, most obvious difference is that mennonites use modern technology and wear modern clothing. Visually, they dress like “Spanish Pentecostals”. You probably don’t know what that is either, but they’re a conservative religious group that wears modern, but EXTREMELY conservative clothing, that is occasionally handmade. The women don’t typically wear makeup or jewelry, and they wear their hair long, in a bun, and sometimes also wear a head covering, depending on personal beliefs and/or their particular subsect of the religion. I’m mostly just describing Spanish Pentecostals, but the same could be said about the particular Mennonites that I knew. In fact, even though the two groups have a completely different history and “worship” style, these groups are so similar in some important ways, that mennonites attended the English language services at spanish pentecostal churches that I was sometimes forced to go to as a kid. The vast majority of Spanish Pentecostals are Puertorican, so it was strange mix of cultures at those services. That brings up the second very important difference between the Amish and Mennonites, which is that Mennonites tend to freely intermingle with other conservative protestant groups, including attending each others services, which is something the Amish never allow, at least as far as I know. This means that Mennonites are far less insular than the Amish, and therefore get a lot more exposure to other ethnicities, cultures, and religious beliefs, even if those religious beliefs don’t actually differ that much from their own. I should probably mention that someone else pointed out that there are a lot of different Mennonite groups, and some might be very different from what I just described.

I watched this one Mormon movie as a kid that was basically Beauty and the Beast but the "Beast" character was a recovering alcoholic whose wife died in an accident he caused and now he lives in his pristine mansion alone. 'Beauty' s" dad is the repairman working on something in the Beast's home but the rich guy doesn't like it so he fires the guy and Beauty storms over and yells at him for firing her dad and threatening to tell his boss that he did shoddy work or something. So he makes her work for him. Plot twist: she's Mormon. He used to be. So she spends a lot of time trying to reconvert him and in the end it works out like the fairytale but it's just a terrible movie. The writing, editing, and acting is all not the best and the whole thing stumbles its way along to the very forced endpoint.

The moral of this movie is to not leave home, but when you do, be racist and clueless and do "very bad" things and decide that you like it but then go back home where it is safe and life is the easiest it could ever be. Convert someone if you have to.

As a person who lives next to the Amish, here's some info: 1) Rumspringas happen at SIXTEEN not EIGHTEEN 2) An Amish community is not full of cousins 3) Amish women can wear bright colors-- they don't all dress is grey and browns and whatever 4) Amish people can go to restaurants 5) YOU CAN'T GET A TATTOO AND AN ENGLISH GIRLFRIEND AND JUST WALTZ BACK INTO THE AMISH COMMUNITY Sure. It's a comedy. But WHAT the FUCK.

Yeah, I’m from a state with large populations of both. Once I was shopping at Walmart in a college town with a friend from CA, and there was a Mennonite family shopping there too. My friend was like, “Amish ppl shopping at Walmart?? Such huge hypocrites!!” I had to explain the difference between Amish and Mennonites (where I live you can tell them apart by dress), and also that there’s no prohibition for either group on buying food from Walmart! Yeesh. I also sometimes forget not everyone knows about these groups.
