It is sad that it hits Nick so much more on a different level/meaning because of his brother Aaron passing away. He still went on stage to perform the day after finding about Aaron. You could really see the emotion and sadness he had especially at the point of his solo part in the song. He wasn't even able to finish it but I could still see he was singing it inside his heart.

Okay so a little on each song: (it's not short and sweet but I swear I tried) INCOMPLETE | BSB's first single after a two-year hiatus. You saw Kevin playing the piano in the music video and he really did play on the song for real so love that for him (and us). The song was a commercial success, peaking at #13 on the Hot 100 and going gold. It debuted at #1 in Australia, becoming BSB's only number-one hit there to date. MORE THAN THAT | released as the third single from Black & Blue. Reached #27 on the Hot 100 and ran for 20 weeks. Somehow performed poorly compared to other singles of BSB, failing to reach the top 10 in any of their main markets. A travesty, because it's one of my all-time faves and I'm not surprised it's your fave out of this particular bunch. The music video shares elements with Madonna's "Don't Tell Me," a song and music video I love love love to pieces. SHAPE OF MY HEART | THE BSB song that gives me chills. Every time, never fails. For that reason alone it's my #1. Released as the lead single from Black & Blue, it earned a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. It's also the last single to date by BSB to peak in the top 10 of the Hot 100. The music video is shot in monochrome with a blue tint, creating a black and blue atmosphere in reference to the album's name. SHOW ME THE MEANING OF BEING LONELY | The man referenced in the beginning was Denniz Pop, a Swedish DJ, music producer, and songwriter. He produced and wrote songs for several artists, including BSB, Britney Spears, NSYNC, and Robyn. Sadly he passed away from stomach cancer in August of 1998 at the age of 35, so quite a few of those artists dedicated awards, videos, and songs to him. As for the music video, it touches on some of the group's real-life issues: Brian had undergone open heart surgery for a defect he had since birth, AJ's part was dedicated to a friend of his who died in a car accident, Kevin was watching footage of him as a boy with his father (who is deceased), and the woman in red running toward Howie in the diner represented his sister, who died a year earlier of lupus.

Show me the meaning of being lonely is from the album millennium (1999)More than that and Shape of my heart are from the album Black and Blue (2000) and incomplete from the album Never Gone (2005) Never Gone is a personal favourite album of mine. Totally underrated. 😊

Howie's my favourite, love your videos. BSB are 10x better than the other "boybands" , me personally don't see them as a boyband but a group with great voices and harmonies and each member can sing. Show Me The Meaning... is my favourite , but the ones you chose to react to is my top ones, add All I Have To Give. My girlfriend back in 1998 listened to As Long As You Love Me all the time, drove me crazy.

I'm grateful for this channel and its reactions. BSB & Westlife are my favorite acts ever aside from Tech N9ne and Eminem. And to be for real, I wasn't a fan of them at the beginning, I kinda went through a hating boy band phase thanks to my toxic masculinity traits at the time but once I was converted back in 2017 at 14 years old, there was no going back. I love them, their catchy melodies, soaring harmonies and beautiful sentiments in their lyrics are amazing, they're the GOATS of this for sure, vocal harmony groups with longevity and versatility, much love to you for sharing your love for them with fans such as myself, it was much appreciated

Aren,t these guys great?! All the songs are so good which makes them successful and how they made themselves brothers, families. They considered Aaron their little brother and part of the Backstreet Boys. They hang out with each other alot as if they grew up since infancy. I really love these guys cause they are the best that give a darn. This lady had recently passed out at one of their concerts and AJ runs backstage to get permission to stop the concert until that fan is ok and taken care of if needed. I guess from the heat she passed out and the whole group was looking at her making sure she was ok and continued to finish their concert when she gave the ok that she was fine. These guys don,t mess around especially Kevin. It took telling AJ from Kevin saying "You are dead to Me" and walked away and that,s what it took for AJ to realize how much his drug habit and harsh partying was affecting the group and was capable of breaking up a good thing and he didn,t want that kind of responsibility over his head. He eventually got help and quit the drugs and heavy drinking cause he would miss rehearsals and Kevin with the other guys literally had to break down his door to get to him and give him an ultimatum and walked out on him. AJ broke down and cried which is what it took to wake him up. Oprah did a story on his addiction then halfway through the show Oprah brought the rest of the group out to reconcile with AJ cause he,s responsible in creating the Backstreet Boys and they weren,t going to let this awesome group break up and this was during the Millinium Tour, good concert too. You should try to look up the Millinium Tour in Indiana I think it was at. Beautiful concert and loved their entrance. Hope you find it. 👍🎄⛄

As much as I love the Backstreet Boys, I can't help but feel bad for disrespect towards Howie and Kevin. Sometimes I think they were kept around for set-pieces and to make the number five. I personally love hearing the distinctions in all their voices and would have loved to hear more individual contributions in their songs

As a huge fan of BSB I think it’s important to remember Kevin was the oldest. So when their songs came out in 1998ish, the TRL/MTV fans were like me, young teens. Kevin was 28. Hard to feature the oldest member when the fan base was arguably pretty young. And personally, I guess this is up to debate but I personally feel Kevin and Howie were the weakest vocally.

@@suchasongbird Well Howie's voice is good not bad at all he has a unique tone but Kevin's voice is great I'm a singer myself and this guy could really sing, check some of his interviews in which he was asked to sing and he shocked everyone with the kind of notes he could hit and how skillful he is as a singer, I still couldn't get why didn't they give him more vocal lines in songs to show what he could actually do with his voice!

Kevin and Howie were for the moms and AJ was for 20-ish year old crowd that understood all his sexual innuendos… and his voice, of course! 😉

Great review! My favorite from those four was Shape of my heart. There is a lot of back story to the video of Show me the meaning of Being lonely. Howie had lost his sister, they used Kevins Father in the Video, because he had passed on and Brian had suffered a heart problem and needed surgery which no one knew about at that time. It was really serious. Thank you for doing BSB again. I love them. Try "I still" next. It is one of my favorites. Keep BSB coming they have a HUGE catalog.
