Same goes for Rapunzel, Elsa/Anna, and Moana. *Sleeping Beauty being 1/7 before 1996, and she wasn't actually raised by her parents. First at the beginning, going from the big plantation mansions with her very rich white friend who has everything to where she lives with the small wooden house community of a lot of black people sharing what they have together and she has to work multiple jobs to save every penny. Then the "woman of your background" comment made me so mad when i first saw the movie.

A bit of Triivia: Tiana's 1st princess dress that Lottie lends her is a shout out to Brandy Norwood' version of Cinderella from Roger and Hammerstein's live action Cinderella musical with Paolo Montalban, Victor garber, Whoopi Goldberg, Bernadette peters, And Jason Alexander [George Costanza from seinfield] Me: not mentioning Whitney Houston who funded most of the movie and is a genuine vocal powerhouse. You need to go to Louisiana Billy, they have some of the best Cajun food. Hush puppies are fried dough balls, and gumbo is amazing.

Fun fact: Princess and The Frog was the last movie Disney ever made in the “old school” animation style. They said all future movies would be in the newer style. (like Moana, Frozen, Encanto, etc.) I think that’s neat lol
