Great to see that you’ve enjoyed this episode. The next three series are probably some of the show’s best, so I’m very excited to see what you think of those. Regarding Torchwood, i honestly don’t mind how you cover it, whether that be having individual videos for every episode or watching some select episodes on the channel and the rest privately, or everything privately. Whatever you think is the best for you. If you’re going to watch it, it’s best to have finished season 1 before you watch ‘Utopia’ in DW series 3 (which is episode 11), so if you don’t want a huge gap between DW reactions you’d be able to watch the two shows more or less side by side. However you decide to do it, I’m looking forward to it! Glad to see you’re enjoying DW so far and excited for what you have to come :)

This era was the most popular the show got in the new era (the ratings continue to climb in the next few seasons) and so more money was thrown into it and the showrunner was able to produce spin off shows like torchwood, sarah jane adventures, dr who confidential etc... it also started catching on more abroad...... (although it always had a following anyhow especially in placed like USA and Australia.. )

Torchwood is very good, season 1 it was finding it's feet so be aware that there may be a couple of not so great episodes in there 'Day One' for example... but definitely, I for one would love to see you react to the series and series 3 is an absolute golden piece of television! :)

You don't have to watch torchwood but there are little ties with the main dr who shows, most importantly it will make you smile if you can finish the first season of torchwood before you get to the 2nd half of the next season of Dr who... you'll understand when u get to the episode of who!!

I think I'd rather you watch Torchwood in your own time. I find that Torchwood is a bit hit and miss and the episodes aren't too enjoyable to watch people react to. That's just my preference though. I'd rather see you get to season 3 of Doctor who as fast as possible.

I just watched Torchwood series 1 for the first time... it's surprisingly great... like, there's early episodes that in the past put me off it coz it felt like they were doing an adult take on Doctor Who in the most immature way possible, but it is genuinely a good series now that I've properly watched it. Personally, I would much prefer to see Doctor Who reactions than Torchwood episode reactions.

Yeah, idk Torchwood season 1 was pretty meh imo. The characters were great but not very developed. Also, I feel like each episode in season 1 was just the writers coming up with some other R rated thing they couldn't use in Doctor Who just for the sake of being R rated. It just felt like they were ticking boxes if you know what I mean. Season 2 and 3 are much better but they still didn't blow me away.

@@HamzaReactz I reckon torchwood and series 3 at the same time. Torchwood series 1 is alright, but has some bad episodes. series 2 of torchwood though is amazing, and series 3 is probably the best 5 hours of television i've ever watched, with series 4 returning to being similar to season 2

Donna is a bit too much - good job she's not the next companion. Torchwood would be good and i suspect people will request it for reasons you'll see... but it's not essential for DW. I'm still puzzled why they used the pilot fish/xmas tree twice though other than the obvious 'we need something'.

Throughout the episode I assumed she was the new companion until the end when she decided not to go with the Doctor. I didn’t mind her character by the end, but if she was to constantly be shouting then I’d be so done with the character very quickly. And yeah having those Christmas trees again didn’t need to happen at all. They were there for like one scene and didn’t really serve the plot at all. I think I will do videos for Torchwood but may also do Series 3 at the same time. I’m still thinking about for now.

I loved this episode. I thought Donna was a hoot. I like that not everyone wants to join the Doctor and be in awe of him. I am not interested in Torchwood. I never finished it. Just watched a few recommended episodes in the end.

@@HamzaReactz In the classic series there are a variety of people who travel with the Doctor who ended up with him for a variety of reasons, not all of which were voluntarily, including kidnapping, stowing away, having nowhere else to go, etc. and from different planets, different time periods. There just is a wide variety.

Fans don’t always like this episode but I loved it. So much fun. Donna was great as a one off comic companion. Not sure I could have managed if she’d been full time though. We needed something light and silly after the S2 finale. Regarding Torchwood…I didn’t like it at all, personally.
