That first trailer with Yoshizawa was so interesting. People immediately seemed to assume that she was a new female protagonist, but then the voice clips were translated and, as it turns out, they used the lines of her telling Akechi and Joker that she really doesn’t like the Phantom Thieves. We had months of not knowing who this new mystery character was until more news started coming out.

Honestly if it wasnt for how spoilerish P5R's trailer was i probably wouldnt have even got the game. I played vanilla back when it first released and i thought P5R was gonna be similar to Golden, where the changes werent really all that big of a deal compared to the base version. I was really more excited for the what i was seeing from strikers, that was until i saw DarKechi in one of the trailers and was hooked on buying it and i am glad i did because Royal is THE definitive version of the game. They knew what they were doing for the marketing of that game, it was truly meant for the people who were already in the know.

2:34:59 I'm glad Shoji Meguro decided to rework last surprise from this version lol. Not that theres anything wrong with it particularly, but he was still using the same outdated trumpet vsts from persona 3 and 4, which sounds really weird when put with the rest of the track which has more of a live jazz fusion feel. Another thing to note is that in the final version, the track sounds like its maybe 2 or 3 semitones up from this, idk why he changed that but whatever I guess. Also the orchestral parts are way more fleshed out. I do kinda like the guitar doing the vocal melody though especially in the chorus. Just leads me to wonder wether this was purely just a demo quickly thrown together cos they needed a song for a trailer or wether originally the rest of the ost was gonna be like this as well?

To get the full experience of a number of the Persona 5 trailers, you have to preface them with like several days of Atlus trolling streams. Well to be fair, one of the earlier trailers came at the end of one of the concerts, and THAT was worth the wait.

Crystal, I'm wondering whether you could check out the When They Cry series? When They Cry is a horror murder mystery visual novel franchise that consists of three series': Higurashi, Umineko and Ciconia (which is still incomplete). What's great is that despite them allegedly taking place in the same universe, they are still standalone series that can be enjoyed on their own. If you want to see intriguing mysteries and compelling characters, this is the series for you! I think it's best if you go in blind so you can feel surprised while reading. Both Higurashi and Umineko consist of 8 chapters each. There is currently only 1 arc available in Ciconia, but there will be 4 arcs when the game is done. For Ciconia, you should probably wait for the game to be finished since the game won't be finished anytime soon as the author is busy writing Silent Hill F. If you want to read Higurashi, it is best to download the 07th Mod in order to experience sprite animations and voice acting. As for Umineko, you should install the Umineko Project mod (just go to their website and click on the downloads section top right).

Loved seeing these just to reaffirm why I NEVER watch trailers for anything, espescially franchises I know I want to play regardless. I've played at least all of the core numbers of Persona, but P3 is the only one I played "vanilla", so I actually had no idea (Spoiler Warning) Makoto died at the end until your FES play through, and I later played P3P as FemC in like 2010 I think. This actually is making me want to dig up my PSPs to see if the answer content was on there and I just had no idea. Really loved your appreciation for the improvement jump between 2 and 3. I always refer to P3 as the "Symphony of the Night" for Persona since it kinda solidified the format of the franchise from then on. Since I've only played P4G an P5R probably not even going to play P6 until the second version comes out. You may actually be the only reason I'll be aware of the waiting period now XD.

For all my childhood and half of my teenage years i didn't had my own video game or got to go a cinema so i say this with certain. It doesn't make a difference, without context most trailers and leaks don't mean anything. Going "full" blind is cool and all but its impact is negligeable

That literally just means you're not the type to think about what you just saw or heard. Just like seperate pieces of open source information can raise a classification when put together, enough released information about a game/movie tends to give away so much it's not even worth seeing any more

I remember way back when Lyn's voice was first heard in a trailer and people were SUPER divided on it. I remember scrolling through so many comments in high school and just seeing stuff like "man this new singer sucks" or "i prefer only instrumentals, please let it be an option" or "wannabe black singer". I have played p3p as FemC. I played part of FES but then my brother's ex girlfriend took her PS3 back when they broke up, which is fine because it was hers but it's still disappointing. I already knew the story from watching other people play it though so that helped too.
