And a big shout out to Professor McGonagall (and Professor Snape) who was fighting cancer during the last films. They made this mythical world and our childhood - young adult years beyond amazing. Three things that really deepen the lore. 1. Harry's sacrifice was actually the same effect as his mother's. So everyone in the castle was actually protected from Volemort in the second half of the battle. His spells would not bind. 2. Kingsley Shacklebolt (black member of Order of Phoenix) became Minister of Magic after the war and kept his position till he eventually passed it on to Hermione. 3. (My favorite fact) After the Second Wizarding War, Umberige was sentenced to Azkaban for her crimes against Muggle-borns, where she would remain for the rest of her life.
@melanie6295410 ай бұрын
re: 1. That's another reason Dumbledore couldn't tell Harry the plan. Because if Harry had gone to his death knowing there was a chance he could survive, it wouldn't be the sacrifice to bring about the protective spell.

What I love about Mrs Weasley stepping up was that, in the book, she was tormented by a boggart, who was shapeshifting into her kids being dead, which was her greatest fear. And she had to deal with that happening in this movie too. So when she got the chance to defend her kids, she didn't shrink away, she didn't cower. She stepped up. Love that.

She had the best line in the entire series of movies: Not my daughter you bitch!! Although Molly Weasley loved all her children she had always wanted a daughter. And with Ginny the last child, she finally had one. She wasn’t gonna let Bellatrix take her daughter away from her.

James Potter’s Patronus was a stag (male deer), same as Harry’s. Lily’s was a doe (female deer) which complimented her husband’s. After Lily’s death Snape’s Patronus became a doe as well. To conjure a Patronus you have to think of your happiness memory & all of Snape’s happy memories are of Lily so his Patronus is the same as hers.

To add to that Jame's Patronus was a Stag because that was his Animagus form. I hate that they didn't go over that in the movies like, AT ALL. How would non-book readers know who Padfoot, Prongs, Wormtail and Moony were? (I think) They all chose to become animals during the full moon to be able to hangout with Remus. They didn't even mentioned that Remus knew the map so well because they created it. He trusts the map so much that when he saw Peter's name on there, he knew it was true; he's still alive.

It was a favor to the wizarding world that Molly Pruitt-Weasley decided to leave the battlefield after the first wizarding war bc if she didnt, she'd be up there with Snape. as you see she killed Voldemort's top death eather with 2 nonverbal spells back to back and Arthur was easily taking on 2 death eaters without breaking a sweat n he was kicking their asses. @DJLawrence10 ай бұрын
@simonacannizzo5141 that... is actually a good explanation for the movie-verse. Because in the book Dumbledore had a whole thing going in the 5th book whn Harry was talking about the snake attack "dream" on Arthur Weasley. There Dumbledore had instruments that seemed to've confirmed the horcrux both in Harry and the snake (he strongly suspected the snake because of that "dream" and told Harry during their private lessons in book 6 when they talked about what specifically each horcrux could be).

If you’re wondering how Harry survived the Killing Curse from Voldemort again it’s actually explained in the book. In Limbo, Dumbledore tells Harry that it has nothing to with the Deathly Hallows or the Horcrux taking a bullet for Harry, he says it’s because of Lilly’s love protection when she sacrificed herself to save her son. The protection was supposed to last until he turned 17 due to him calling the Dursley’s house his home. His Aunt Petunia shared Lilly’s blood so the protection lived on until Harry leaves her for good but it didn’t go away the way it’s supposed to. Very simply, Voldemort made a huge mistake by using Harry’s blood to come back in the Goblet of Fire. Dumbledore says: “His body keeps her sacrifice alive and while that enchantment survives, so do you.” Because Voldemort put Harry’s blood into his new body, the love protection lived on inside of himself. Therefore continuing Lilly’s protection for Harry. Very poetic and makes sense since love is the only thing Voldemort can’t feel or understand, and won’t expect its true power.
@juanv875810 ай бұрын
If you check out the deleted scenes from this movie you'll find that Draco has more of a redemption than the final cut shows. In the scene that shows Harry falling from Hagrid's arms & fights Voldemort (showing he's still alive), Harry didn't actually have a wand. In the scene, when Draco is called by his parents, crosses over to the other side & Harry drops from Hagrid's arms; they cut a scene where Draco runs toward Harry, calls out his name and throws him his wand. Draco armed Harry, I wish they would have kept that scene.
@tuteuf21110 ай бұрын
@@juanv8758 what he said about the love protection from Lily and the whole explanation about the blood running through Voldemort’s veins is intentionnal. J.K Rowling wrote that on her book. However, what you are talking about was just a scene made by the producers for the movie, and only the movie. Malfoy was a bast… in the books as well as in the movies so the whole « redemption arc » is a bit stupid in my opinion for the book. But for the movies, it might be plausible. But let’s be real. It is too much out of character. Firstly, Malfoy is to much a coward to actually try something risky in front of the dark lord himself. Secondly, it would make no sense, how did the wand appeared ? Out of nowhere ? Finally, Malfoy being good to harry, nah never (aside from the moment he saved him from Bellatrix in their manor) But, I am open to what you think about this 😁
@JeffKelly0310 ай бұрын
Yep. And on that same note, while it feels a little "get out of jail free" in the books, I liked that in the final showdown with Voldemort in the last book, Harry's sacrifice had the same impact on everyone at Hogwarts. He was willing to give up his life to protect them, and by doing so, he put that same protection over them in the final battle. Like, the only hint of it in the movies was that when Voldemort attacked Neville, he was able to recover unscathed after a couple minutes, because he was under Harry's protection.

I don’t know if you guys caught that bit of Snape’s memories, when he sent his doe patronus out to Harry after talking to Dumbledore. His doe is what led Harry to the Sword of Gyriffindor in the last movie. And his patronus was a doe just like Harry’s mother’s, further proving how much he truly loved her. After Lilly died is in fact when Snape’s patronus changed into a doe. Since you need your happiest memories to conjure a patronus, all of his happiest memories were of Lilly Potter and therefore made his patronus a doe. Therefore, that conversation between Snape and Dumbledore about Harry needing to die wasn’t very long ago. Dumbledore knew Harry was connected to Voldemort in some way, but it wasn’t until recently that he figured out that Harry was a true horcrux.

About Voldemort and the Resurrection Stone... The Resurrection Stone at some point was mounted into a ring and was passed down through a branch of the Peverell family, eventually married(?) into the Gaunt family who were descendants of Salazar Slytherin. (Harry is a descendant of another branch of the Peverell family and has the Invisibility Cloak.) There were several pensive trips into Voldemort's past in the sixth book, but they were skipped in the movies. The movie kept the one where Dumbledore met young Tom Riddle at the orphanage for the first time. The surviving Gaunt family didn't know what the stone in the ring was, and just considered it a family heirloom, proud to be from the powerful Peverell and Slytherin lines. They also had the Slytherin locket. Voldemort's mother Merope ran away (with the locket) and bewitched a muggle guy she fancied, Tom Riddle. When it wore off, he left her. She sold the locket. She later died and baby Tom stayed at the orphanage until Dumbledore brought him to Hogwarts. When young Tom got older, he searched for his family. He found out about his muggle father and created his second horcrux (first was the diary) from the ring he stole from his crazy uncle Morfin Gaunt - by killing his muggle father and grandparents. (He framed Morfin for the murders.) He changed his name to Voldemort because he didn't want the muggle name of Riddle. Voldemort wore the ring for a while and then hid it in the Gaunt family home, putting enchantments and a curse on it. When Dumbledore started searching for horcruxes after the incident with Riddle's diary, he found the ring, but got excited and forgot to be cautious when he recognized the stone. He put the ring on his hand and activated the curse placed on it. Dumbledore used Gryffindor's Sword to destroy the horcrux in the ring. The curse was stopped by Snape, but the damage was already done and Dumbledore only had a year left to live. Dumbledore later willed the stone from the ring to Harry, hidden in the snitch. Harry used it to bring back his family for a short time, then dropped it in the forest to be trampled into the earth.

Some lore for you guys: 1. McGonnagal is an OG badass, she was top of her classes at Hogwarts, Dumbledore taught her himself. So the look on Snape's face when she attacks first is fear, cause he knows he is outmatched so he runs. 2. McGonnagal removed all the Slytherin studenrs from the last battle because they were a liability but also because she was their teacher and wanted to protect them from seeing their parents whom many of were Death Eaters, kill and or be killed.

1:26:06 Unfortunately, as long as any of the Horcruxes were around, Voldemort wouldn't die. Even if a bunch of powerful wizards attacked him at the same time, they could only destroy his body. He would still survive to find another way back later. Dumbledore played the long game. He knew that Voldemort was probably still around when everyone else thought he was really gone. And after he learned that Voldemort used the Horcrux process multiple times, he knew all of them had to go before he could be fully vanquished. Harry couldn't be told ahead of time because his sacrifice had to be real. Dumbledore knew the kind of man Harry had become and knew he would die to protect others, thus giving them his blood/love protection - the same as Lily's protection that Voldemort himself accidentally extended by building his new body with Harry's blood.
@dalehammers442510 ай бұрын
To be fair though, Dumbledore only knew the process he survived with was horcruxes after book 2 and the diary.
@MarshaLove072310 ай бұрын
@@dalehammers4425 True about the Horcrux method, but early in the first book he said that it 'seemed' that Voldemort has disappeared. (I always felt that Dumbledore sometimes 'sensed a disturbance in the Force' 😏 and knew he was out there somewhere...) Of course there was also the Sybill Trelawney prophecy that had yet to be fulfilled. He found out for certain that he wasn't truly gone with the Sorcerer's Stone adventure. I always wondered what happened before Harry went to Hogwarts. Dumbledore had the Stone removed from Gringotts right before someone broke into that vault, and then put up multiple defenses to guard it at Hogwarts. What prompted those moves? What did he learn that made him think that Voldemort was trying to get the Stone? Maybe Firenze or another centaur spilled the tea with Dumbledore... Hee hee.

No matter how much these guys joke around and laugh, but their analysis, points, views are genuinely amazing
Fun Fact, Harry had to sacrifice himself willingly to live, that's why Dumbledore didn't tell him about the blood ritual loop hole. He also didn't want Harry to know he had to die, until it was the right time. Which is why everyone had to believe Snape was evil, and only Dumbledore and Snape knew what needed to be done to kill Voldemort.

Dumbeldore spent his life collecting the DEathly Hallows...The cape of invisibility...The Elder Wand and The Resserection Stone...to make Harry " The Master of Death"...It was a life long plan... Hermione was the Real One...
@AhavaMath10 ай бұрын
Dumbledore actually collected the deathly hallows for himself. Which is how his hand gets the curse injury that he has in the sixth movie/book. He had just collected the resurrection stone (which was on a ring) and he wanted to use it and put the ring on, but Voldemort had cursed the ring. After that, Snape confines the curse to his hand, and Dumbledore removes the stone from the ring and puts the stone in the snitch for Harry to eventually find. Remember how Harry got the invisibility cloak in the first movie/book? Dumbledore gave it to him, saying it had belonged to his father. But the reason Dumbledore had it in the first place was because he had asked to borrow it from James, since he had suspected it was one of the deathly hallows.

Oh, man.... seeing Fred lying on the floor in the Great Hall dead is heartbreaking, especially seeing Ron break down in tears. (Hearing that Harry had to sacrifice himself to give them a chance of defeating Voldemort and the Death Eaters didn't help that grief.) Also, I was at the midnight premiere of The Deathly Hallows Part 2 in 3D. The scene where Mrs. Weasley took out Bellatrix got a massive cheer from the audience. 6 points I've made in the past regarding Harry Potter: 1. The prophecy Professor Dumbledore mentioned in Professor Snape's memory that mentioned a baby born at the end of July was partially true. There were actually two: Harry Potter and Neville Longbottom. They were born in the same month and year, but Neville is only 1 day older than Harry. (Neville: 30 July 1980, Harry: 31 July 1980.) Voldemort had chosen to target a then 15-month-old Harry, thus marking him as his equal. Neville lived a life free of that fear with his grandmother, despite the constant painful reminder of his parents being permanently admitted to St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries after being tortured into insanity by Bellatrix Lestrange. 2. After the Battle For Hogwarts, George Weasley could never cast the Patronus Charm again, since it relies on your happiest memory to work, and literally ALL of his happy memories involved his deceased twin brother Fred. Most likely for a while, until he married Angelina Johnson and named his son after his twin. (According to The Wizarding World website) 3. Voldemort's death after his battle with Harry wasn't supposed to look like he got snapped out by Thanos, and it wasn't just them isolated in the courtyard. In the book, Harry and Voldemort battle for the last time in front of everyone else, resulting in Voldemort dying as a mortal man once Neville sliced off Nagini's head, effectively saving Ron & Hermione in the process. 4. Harry didn't snap the Elder Wand in the book version. He mends his original wand (the one he got in Philosopher's Stone from Ollivander's) with it, then returns it to Professor Dumbledore's grave. 5. I give HUGE props to Narcissa for straight-up lying to Voldemort after Harry confirmed that Draco was alive. It shows that neither she nor her son wanted the Death Eater life. 6. That one goblin who stared in shock as the Ukrainian Ironbelly busted through the floor of Gringotts seriously looked a bit like Donald Trump. 😆🤣

The thing about Griphook wanting the sword, it was explained in the book that goblins believe that when they make an item for someone, and that someone dies, the item should be returned to goblins. Goblins made the sword for Godric Gryffindor, who died a long time ago, so Griphook believes its long overdue for it to be returned.

Snapes patronus is a doe because that was Harry’s mom patronus form and when you lose someone you love it is very possible for your patronus to take on your loved ones patronus form. The theme of the strength of a mother’s love is HUGE in the series. Neville could’ve been the chosen one as per the prophecy and when his bday fell. Neville’s parents never gave up his whereabouts no matter how badly they were tortured. Having Molly fight Bellatrix capped off another mom standing between evil and the Order’s children, whether they were her’s by birth or not. Trust me, Bellatrix got her due. Molly petrified her from the inside out, then shattered her. Rough, painful and “aware” way to go! Btw, Neville was originally using his dad’s wand, not one that had “chosen him”. That’s why he was iffy at magic at the beginning of the series.
