One cool thing with having Netflix in the browser and having the KZbin app on the Q3 is that you can watch movies and videos in ANY environment, I have watched Netflix within my favorite games like a base in No Mans Sky, the apartment in Half Life Alyx, the penthouse in Hubris and favorite worlds in VR chat. Any place can turn into your personal cinema 😁

@@jeffreyschmidt3997 Absolutely, regardless of whether I'm running a game directly from the Quest 3 or the PCVR, if I press the menu button (the one on the right controller) where I can select apps or end the one that's running. There I can select KZbin or, for example, Meta's built-in browser and select Netflix. You can't move while watching, however, but it's perfectly possible to start up multiple screens just as if you were in Meta's home environment in any game. Hope that clarified a bit.

After gaming, watching entertainment is the other reason I love Q3. I watch Netflix in mixed reality and have the huge screen above my IRL tv whilst I watch the NFL, premier league or motor racing on my actual tv. It’s actually amazing!

I agree for the Quest 3 but the Quest 3S has such a narrow sweetspot that watching movies (especially with subtitles) and anything to do with remote desktop work is honestly somewhere between not enjoyable and awful. With some VR headsets I feel like it was in the early days of Android, when reviewers just chose to ignore the bad performance and constant stutter. With VR Headsets, they chose to keep the issue of the super narrow sweetspot from potential buyers and I think that's is not a good way to do reviews.

One thing to know that you didn't mentioned about watching media from the browser is that if you're in a VR environment the battery will last a lot longer than in MR !

Watching sports, movies, and shows is great on the Quest 3, especially with lay-down mode. I’ll connect some earbuds, throw on a football match in progress, and get a great immersive experience.

I would like to see a video going over comfortable headstraps for laying back and watching a movie. I use a BoboVR S3Pro with battery pack and it is awesome..... except for when I want to recline back in my lounge chair to watch content instead of game.

omg yes. i got the quest 3 recently. VR is the future of gaming, for sure. check out half life alyx, subnautica, alien isolation (if you can handle it)

Netflix doesn’t work for me when I put a show on I can see the subtitles and hear the audio but the video itself is just black.

I've never owned a vr headset and looking into the q3. Only issue I see is the battery not being able to be changed, so how long will it actually work for? Also, I have a ps5 but don't use it as much as I do the xbox series x. which one would be worth it and would I be able to play xbox games in vr from my series x via gamepass?

Bigscreen fell off after they closed all their rentals, specifically the 3d ones. I have a feeling Apple bought the rights to stream those kinds of movies exclusively and haven’t gotten around to implementing it, but that’s just a crazy theory.

are you talking about conventional 3D like in the cinemas back in the day OR are you talking about 360° video? Those are two different things. There is not a single feature length film i know of that is shot in 360° format.

There isn't Quest 3 is a single person device The only way to use with your family is buying multiple headsets, then you can play certain games together

I moved to a new city for a SWE job so my brother and I each bought a Quest 3 so we can still hang out virtually. VR games are tons of fun, but sometimes it's nice to veg out on the couch and play traditional games, but with the added benefit of feeling like we're in the same room together with VR. I'm wondering specifically if there's a way to spoof couch coop/split screen games, or if there's a way for him to see his screen and me to see mine if we have to play a game on seperate devices.

Try 4XVR with some true 50-80 GBs 4K Blu-Ray rips and you will get the best quality you can get with the Quest 3.

Sorry but this video is pretty much bullshit as netflix is the only really usable streaming service you can use from the browser as all the the other ones limit teh streaming resolution to point where it just hurts to watch it, the new amazon prime app is noticely better then the browser one and still only supports 720p which if you want to watch it on a big screen is not enough and looks bad, its even worse for disney plus, as they dont have an app and the broser restricts the resolution to an unwatchable level. So watching Movies on Quest is possible with decent or at least decent enough quality but with netflix as the only exeption its not an easy solution! The best ways are something like a fire tv stick using HDMI Link, or Ripped BluRays...

Haha that might be the case with some but Netflix, prime, Disney+ and KZbin all worked for me perfectly. I can not speak for USA streaming services as I can not try from the UK.

@@RhysDaKingVR im also not from the US I'm from Germany but it shouldn't be a regional issue it's an issue with widevine... In order to use high quality streaming an app needs content protection enabled. For the good quality you need support for widevine L1 which on meta os is only accessible for Metas own apps, but also needs support from the service provider, this is the case for the browser as a meta software and the collaboration with Netflix to enable it that's the reason Netflix in the browser nowadays supports 1080p, however even though its theoretically possible to do the same for the other streaming services, prime and Disney both havent worked with meta to enable L1 based streaming in ther browser version. Prime on the Webbrowser for example caps out at 576p The amazing app is 720p as can seen on the bottom left quality indicator which peaks out at HD (1080p would show HD1080) it can also be verified using bandwidth comparison while streaming or the downloads. (Which I did to properly write a review for the Prime App)
