Fire took over my 2017 Ford Mustang GT350 a few weeks back at the FIRM. Definitely not a fun situation, but we're going to try to make the best of it.

With his online presence and all the evidence compiled from this incident and the previous incident which all stemmed from the same factory defect , he knew fine that he could negotiate an undisclosed solution with Ford . They probably compensated him well and now that he has the option of buying the car back cheap from insurance to make tons of content building it into a drift car , this "loss" will actually be hella lucrative .

I can't even explain my respect for how you handled this man. Kept a cool head, thought about it rationally and assured her it wasn't her fault, I remember about 5 years ago my buddy totaled my rb s13 (I know the monetary value isn't even close) but it broke my heart because my buddy felt so bad he had tears in his eyes, he was talking about selling all of his stuff to help me recoup, when he himself was living check to check, even though if anything it was my fault for putting him into car before checking my brakes and giving him a better run through on how hard the clutch bites, I know first hand hand how hard it is not to blame them in the moment even when you know it's not their fault, mad respect, seriously.

I’m an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer and in aircraft we have stuff called lock wire. Stops everything from backing off like oil filters 🤯

bingo, many track day organizations that take safety seriously will require that you wire certain critical fluid retaining items (think oil filter). you won't even be allowed on course without having first passed a tech inspection. and if not for safety, then for the added penalty created that having to clean up oil creates as the track has to be closed for a bit robbing everyone of valuable run time.

I had a GT350 on the track and my oil temp sensor came loose and dumped oil on my headers, etc. It didn't catch on fire and I didn't lose control but it was enough for me to lose confidence in the car and I traded it in ... These cars are great but with all the motor vibrations problems are generated like having to toque the oil filter, etc. Glad no one was hurt!

Thank goodness no one was physically hurt. Was the car off or left on? I can recall when I was younger when a fireman came to our school and said that if a car engine ever smokes, immediately turn it off. But I’m not sure if it’s different for race cars?
