We need more competitively geared content. Don't get me wrong, I love Against the Odds style content other KZbinrs are doing, but I also like seeing what the comp people are cooking and spiking.

Good data analysis, it much better than the feel based meta analysis some people do and then ask for ban, also feeling vindicated for my opinion that banning phoenix was a dumb ideia because that's not how meta game works

YOOOO. I am new here but this format of video is DOPE. My brother and I played our first Pioneer night ever.. We have prob played a total of 4 competitive nights at LGS since we ever started magic (which was in Khans era, siege rhino). Turns out like 1/3 of the players were practicing Rakdos Prowess for RCQ season. I was playing a home brewed Gruul Midrange deck and I happened to face vs exclusively Rakdos Prowess for all 3 rounds. I got extremely lucky and went 2-1 which I wasn't expecting in the slightest. But I got a ton of insight on it after playing against it. I am hoping to keep having success with it, I run four Chandra's Defeat in the side exclusively for facing them as I feel if you can keep them down to one creature you can do fairly well with blocks and such. The creatures rarely get high toughness, so my Play With Fires + Oblit Bolts + Chandra's Defeats were killin stuff left and right. I specifically targeted Heartfire Hero the hardest just like you mentioned in here; can't let it take off. My final round I went 0-2 vs the deck but def made a few mistakes. It's hilarious watching this vid after the fact and seeing how popular the deck really is. Here's to shredding more Rakdos Prowess opponents haha!! Definitely helped me build a decklist that was reactive enough to win vs the slow stuff. I will probably suck vs control decks when I finally get to play against one haha! Keep these vids up!

Been playing mono w humans for a while, thats what got me to the rc. May need to figure out if i can stick with it or find a way to adapt if rakdos prowess, jund sac and selesneya angels all remain as some of the toughest matchups to face off against.

@@d00mwake the addition of pyroclasm (with shredders and faeries surviving) will be extra rough to keep pace with. I am holding out some hope on account of a couple new human additions from the latest set being potentially strong additions, but between pyroclasm and also the new leyline for rakdos prowess, it’s going to be pretty nasty for the format.

Orzhov Humans is my main deck and it's much better in those natch ups. Kambal, Consul of Allocation is an underrated all star, and of course Knight of Dusk's Shadow and Thoughtseize.

@@thomasclowater9471 maybe I’ll try it out for a change, but I’m admittedly very used to having the more straightforward package being mono color with the benefit of mutavault not causing as much mana fixing issues and brave providing some good utility.

So, now that you showed the list, I have a question: why people started to use Vaultborn Tyrant over xenegos /wurm? Is it better? Why is it better? Just asking out of curiosity

I think it has to do with the flexibility of being able to do X=1. With Wurm/Xenagos it's better at one-shotting your opp but much worse if the game goes longer

@@l.f.672 theres also an issue in xenagos/wurm where you can draw one of the two pieces and suddenly your creativity is a lot worse (if you cant shuffle it back with volcanic spite), so you reaaaallllly need all your pieces to stay in your deck, as opposed to atraxa and vaultborn, where as long as at least one is still in the deck, youre good to go.
