Hell yes. It seems nobody recognizes how powerful Optimus was after that. I mean think about it. Optimus literally just came back from the dead, but was still absolutely gutted and wrecked, but Jetfire's parts patched him up and allowed him to fly. Plus suddenly The Fallen was a simple fight after that. Not to mention the comedy was great as well.

Something people note about Optimus is that he becomes *alot* less gentle after his death and reanimation. It's like "Alright, being the nice, gentle one didn't work. Violence it is then". Although to be fair, dying and coming back has gone to mess with your head a bit.

I remember going to the theater to see this in 2009. I was so devastated when Optimus Prime was killed by Megatron in this. But I love the revenge shot in the scene where Optimus goes two-on-one against Megatron and The Fallen. For me, nothing was more karmic than seeing Optimus make Megatron shoot himself in the face with his own cannon.

That is arcee. In a prequel comic she was experimented on by a decepticon and her spark was split in to 3 parts and put into 3 bodies. She was originally going to be a combiner but the idea was scraped in the final version of the film. Devastator the giant combining robot took 15 hi powered computers to animate.

He died in 2005, not 86. The 1st 2 seasons of show take place in the 80s. The movie is set in 2005, the teenager from the show is Daniel's dad in the 86 movie. Season 3 and on, is after the movie. I'm about to turn 40, By the time I saw Optimus died, I had already seen him back on show. But since it was before the Internet, a lot of the older kids who stopped watching the show, because they killed Optimus in the movie, didn't know he had came back. This is what cancelled their beloved show lol.

Sooo here comes a little bit of lore. In Cybertron, everyone came from Primus, the primordial leader/god of the Cybertronians. Primus chose his descendants (the primes) as leaders of their world, the original 7 Primes, one of the primes rebels against his brothers, and his names was Megatronus, AKA The Fallen, AKA the First Decepticon after been coerced by Primus nemesis, Unicron, the devouring planet. The story repeats itself, as if Every Prime, must always face every Decepticon.

When this movie was played on the IMAX in Sydney the screen was so big that it had Optimus in 1:1 scale when he was standing on the aircraft carrier at the end. Plus when the Constructicons formed into Devastator, the computers that rendered the graphics to do it smoked from how much computer power it took to do it.

25:29 the thing is is that this movie didn’t really have a script because it was being made during a writers strike I believe. As a result people weren’t allowed to write down scripts for their movies. So that’s why some things might seem a little OFF.

This one was largely shot during the writers strike and boy does it show. They even filmed without a completed script. This is also where Bay unfortunately put in a ton of juvenile humor and allowed the Twins, who were rooted in racist stereotypes. On the bright side, the effects remain good, the fights are good. The Forest fight is the best Transformers movie fight scene. Lots of unique robot designs. It very much colored audience perception on what to expect from a Transformers movie for… well, mostly for worse. 😅 This was the first major hype movie event of my life, though, and I’ll never not cherish it. Being there for the midnight premiere was everything.

There were graphic novels inbetween the movies, which the movies tend to not even take note of 😄 In one four issue series which is set between the first two movies, Arcee was a single autobot, who got captured and experimented on by a Decepticon scientist. Her spark and conscience were broken into three parts, creating the three separate entities featured in the movie. I think they were Arcee, Elita-1 and Chromia, if I'm not mistaken. They are separate personalities but share sort of like a psychic link.

I know you don't want to watch the animation, but the first three episodes of the animated TV show would give you a solid foundation for what Transformers WAS. The "BAYVERSE "takes a lot of liberties with the material. Everyone I know who watched transformers as a kid hates these movies. They become like the fast and furious franchise. You just watch them to see what happens, not because you care about plot or characters. Pretenders were a toy line that looked like humans ( and monsters) but had a robot transformer inside ( was a plastic shell like a babushka). The girl said PRETEND and I took that to be a clue. That little blue RC guy is Wheelie. the orange kid from the animated movie. Have you seen Lethal Weapon. "I'm getting to old for this ****", is a line from that movie.

Reviving Optimus in this movie was not done to redeem his death in 1986, that was always the plan, the original G1 cartoon did that as well. Shortly after the 86 movie was released, Hasbro was hit with a torrent of letters of angry parents of/and sad kids addressed to Sir Optimus Prime (those letters sadly never reached his voice actor, Peter Cullen), who desperately wished for their friend back. Because Hasbro only saw the character as a way to make money, they had no idea about the influence that the fatherly Optimus had to children watching the first two seasons of the original cartoon. Optimus briefly returned in an episode of Season 3 in a zombified state, only to snap out of it and sacrifice himself all over again, which kids were very angry about, seeing it as salt on the wound. So Hasbro, realizing the error of their ways (and seeing a way to make more money), the quickly commissioned the Season 3 finale of the cartoon to be the two-parter episode "The Return Of Optimus Prime", in which Optimus was properly revived to save the universe from a plague that made everyone kill each other, after which he became Autobot leader again, with Rodimus Prime stepping down and giving him the Matrix back, becoming Hot Rod again. Also, just for your information, a Prime isn't something genetic or something one inherits, Prime is the highest rank in the Autobot army. Whoever holds the rank of Prime is the leader, with them carrying the Matrix of Leadership. But it also has more mythical origins: all Primes/ Matrix wielders as the first 13 Transformers who came to life were all Primes, and each had unique abilities that were passed down to decendands who make up the rest of the Cybertronian race. As this movie was made before the lore around the 13 Primes was finalized, there were only seven original Primes in it. And as part of Megatron's backstory, The Fallen's original name was "Megatronus Prime", with Megatron, who was a slave miner before becoming a gladiator turned revolutionary, taking his name, becoming "Megatronus" before shortening it to simply "Megatron".

Its nice to see the development Ironhide goes through. Its not really in the spotlight, and its blink and you miss it, but it IS there. In the first movie: "Why are we fighting to save the humans? They're a primitive, and violent race." Responding to Ratchet saying they should abandon Earth in the second movie: "That's not what Optimus would want." Just neat. Oh, and theres a clear reason why Arcee barely appeared, was totally wasted, and died without any fanfare: Michael Bay really, really HATED her for no real reason. So he planned from the beginning to have her killed off almost immediately in the most unceremonious way possible.

Apparently they forgot Jazz in the first one how he learned to talk and act from the internet and these two focused on a language they loved. 20:14 ran out of energon and needed a boost. 21:28 they used this to explain when Shia LeBouef was in an accident and damaged his hand. 23:31 he’s Wheelie. 24:53 Arcee in this one is actually three motorcycles. They’re more a team than an individual autobot. 30:17 not “biological”. They’re family cause he was worthy of the power of the Primes.

These are supposed "plot-holes" : 1. Why did the Cube only create evil robots? The Cube didn't create "evil" robots. They're just in a feral state, acting on instinct. They need to be nurtured so to speak. 2. Why didn't Sam just use the tiny sliver to revive Optimus? Because that's not how the Allspark worked. Though serving as a conduit for some kind of extradimensional realm it only ignited new sparks, at least according to the "programming" it executed. A spark enters a Transformer's body, granting it life. Like a soul, a spark is generally accepted to contain some part of a Transformer's immaterial being, which persists after death by transcending into the aforementioned realm, taking with it all the emotions, experiences, and knowledge that the Transformer has gained throughout their time online. Hence if the Allspark was ever used on the lifeless body of a Transformer it won't be the "same" being that lived before. However it could repair one that is heavily damaged or re-energise it. That's the only explanation left that makes sense. If not why didn't they use the shard from Megatron's chest to resurrect Jazz? What about Megatron? My theory is that Megatron didn't die. He was actually put into stasis lock. Stasis lock is a critical state of being for Transformers. It's a sort of coma that allows a Transformer to stay alive, running at the lowest level of power despite massive energy loss or traumatic damage. It is comparable to the sleep mode of a computer. Stasis lock can come about in a few different ways. The first way is implemented by a Transformer's locking chip after a shock from massive damage. A locking chip is the Transformer component which implements stasis lock, a form of protective shutdown. Without a locking chip, damage a Transformer can normally survive will instead kill them outright. When the Autobot ship called the Ark crashed on Earth all of the occupants on board were put into emergency stasis lock. At various times during the Beast Wars combatants had to be returned to their respective bases due to going into stasis lock after being badly damaged. The second way seems to be a more gradual process and can come about from damage and energy depletion over a longer period of time. A Transformer will be told by its internal computer to go into stasis lock or risk losing its spark. Death did not occur for Megatron because he was put into stasis lock before it happens. Though Megatron's spark core/chamber took heavy damage the actual spark, containing his memories and personality, was unharmed. He was put into stasis before he could lose it. All he needed were some repairs and a jolt of energy from the Allspark for resuscitation. One may note that Ratchet argued that the Cube was raw destructive power so Megatron should've died. Perhaps the reason he wasn't ultimately killed is because he didn't actually take on its power to the limits. One shrapnel of the Cube survived What about Jetfire? Jetfire was in stasis lock so this just goes back to my previous explanation. What about Optimus? Now Optimus was truly dead (confirmed by the Fallen) but the difference is that he was resurrected through the Matrix of Leadership, not the Allspark. The Matrix serves as a means of access to the Transformer afterlife, through which it can either bestow new Transformer life, or provide a Prime the means of consulting with his predecessors, collectively known as "Wisdom of the Ages", for knowledge or aid in moments of need. Sometimes, through the Matrix, a Transformer's immaterial being can be brought back to its old material body.

This is one of my guilty pleasure movies. It isn't even the best Transformers movie, but something about it is just the most fun one to me. I find it highly enjoyable and love the action. Some parts of it, and by that I mean most, are all over the place, but it's still a fun ride. The first 3 movies are far and away the best ones and it's not even close. I cannot stand the ones with Mark Whalberg in them.
