Hey, please remember if you do the Keira P&P, to watch the one with the "US ending" (they added a scene). I'm saying this so you see it but also people in the comments HATE IT when is not that version, because it makes the reaction feel like it's missing the ending.

We meet the soon-to-be stepmother in the extended opening scene - she actually seemed pretty nice. She brought Poppy a towel and told her she could've gotten hurt jumping off the side of the house like that before trying to talk to her about their relationship, putting Poppy's safety before their relationship and then their relationship before the fact that someone peed in her boots. So she at least is actually trying.

Yeah, he's Alex Pettyfer from I Am Number Four. He's also in Magic Mike, In Time (the Justin Timberlake dystopia movie about time as currency), and Beastly (a movie that I think is right up your alley for reactions; a beauty & the beast retelling with Vennessa Hudgens and Mary-Kate Olsen)~~~ He was also in the remake of Endless Love, but most reaction channels opt to watch the original with Brooke Shields. I might be in the minority and/or biased, idk, but I prefer the 2014 version, if I'm going to watch it...

You definitely should do the 2005 P&P movie with Keira Knightly. The cast alone is worth it. Rosamund Pike, Donald Sutherland, Jena Malone, Carrie Mulligan, Rupert Friend, Matthew McFadden, Tom Hollander. Even if it’s less your style, the cast makes it all worth it. I assure you. P+P+Z is also fun. I do recommend it if the story is your style, it’s a nice twist. But the 2005 adaptation is just *chef kiss*

I don't think it's the dad's fault, or that he isn't parenting her. He clearly had established boundaries with her and said if she kept misbehaving he would send her to boarding school. You can see her sister is not the same, so it was a Poppy problem. I think she was spoiled, probably a lot esp with her rich parents but also her dad probably gave in to her wishes a lot after her mom died and he was adapting into the life of a single father. You can see even with how kind she was with her sister that she was a good girl. I suppose she was still holding on to her grief and when her dad started dating again, it turned into angry. She was in her rebellious phase because she is a teenager and for the first time she isn't getting what she wants. And, of course, she was hanging out with some questionable people. At the end there, it's not that he doesn't recognize her (although, he first doesn't see her because he was most likely looking for a blond girl), it's that she looks exactly like her mom and obviously makes him emotional.

I‘ve been clubbing a few times in recent years but the scene has changed a lot compared to pre pandemic times. Most mainstream clubs are just crowded, loud and the people there are completely unaware of others so you just get elbowed and stepped on. I’ve had the most fun in techno / psytrance / goa clubs but since those parties usually start at 1 or 2 a.m. they completely wreck my sleep schedule. These days I can only tolerate going clubbing every three months or so and much prefer a house party or chill gathering at a friend’s place.

Yesss this is such a good suggestion! Ngl watching it again as a 27 year old vs my 15 year old self, I now have soo many criticisms of the plot, character (no development) and the songs. Firstly, my husband who is white/British pointed out all the songs are in an Indian style but sung in English which is actually what I’d expect if the Keira Knightley version had songs - this the Bollywood version so I would have expected songs sung in Hindi.

Re her therapist - I don't know if he's actually doing her any good. There's a whole deleted 10 minutes that makes the opening party scene make a lot more sense. But in it we hear her call her therapist after she wakes up (without an appointment), she tells him she needs a mindset, gives him an example when he asks for one (something like "love others as you love a flower, a thing of beauty"), yells at the maid and calls her basic because she ironed a shirt that's supposed to look creased, asked the therapist to tell her what kind of flower, first asked him to change the flower because she hates the kind he gave as an example, then asked him to change it to purses "because I totally prefer purses", and then when he was trying to say something else she just said "Ok, whatever" and hung up. Ruby later said that she'd exchanged "flower" for "Porsche" when she called him and said she'd die without him. So the feeling I got was that this "therapist" is either just an overpaid hack who tells Poppy and her Malibu friends what they want to hear, or that they just act like they're getting help but basically just don't listen to him. Either way I don't think it matters that she can't call him and that it's not an issue about whether or not her dad pays attention to her because this therapist doesn't really help her.

Yes! You should watch Alice in Wonderland again. A natural follow-up to this movie would be St Trinians and St Trinians 2.

You should check out the St Trinian's. If you're interested in a fun, British chick-flick.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is actually really good, still extremely true to the book but with a twist. I’m not a fan of zombie movies personally but found it to be really entertaining.

Great video! You should definitely watch 2005's Pride and Prejudice and then watch Pride and Prejudice + Zombies.

Please check out pride and prejudice! The most accurate book adaptation is the 1995 BBC mini series but I think the 2005 film with Keira Knightley is beautiful and I'd love to see your reaction. The story's been retold in lots of different ways, like the zombie version and the bollywood version too which are great ^^

This film was my tween years. Also I was borderline obsessed with Alex pettyfer after stormbreaker came outand this certainly didn’t help

Yes, he was in I am Number 4 but also Beauty and the Beast (modern setting) as far as I can remember. Always plays a young hunk, not the best actor but not the worst either.

oops you just addressed that but still i think you’re underestimating just how expensive a school like that would be… probably at the very least like 30-50k per year and lots of them are more than that

Sadly, the best Pride and Prejudice is the BBC miniseries, which is not technically a movie. I know people love the Keira Knightley one but I really can’t see anyone but Colin Firth as Mr Darcy. If you want to put yourself through 6ish hours of regency era miniseries though, I would totally watch that!
