Great video. I just bought this game a week ago; it is good fun. Due to the randomness it can be a bit swing-y (really easy or really hard), but I guess that's thematic! :) I've even played it with my 5-year-old son using a slight variant and I've started to add in some of the experienced rules with him too. I think the designer intends for the game to be quite flexible in that regard. My son thinks it's fun if I catch on fire, but he does get sad when the victims catch on fire and are 'lost', so you need to be careful about that with young ones.

A good point. Things like safety, sacrifice and bravery can certainly be discussed with a child when playing.

He also likes to role play the fire fighters taking a nap in the bed, or doing the dishes quickly before saving the dog, etc. It's great fun. And he thinks it's hilarious when the toilet catches on fire!

We like to read and try to understand the directions on our own first and then watch videos like these to round out our knowledge, and you basically confirmed everything we thought. This is my first board game as I'm trying to give them a go. Very helpful for a beginner. I plan on running the family rules a few times and will eventually venture into expert rules. Any recommendations on other board games that are easy to get into?

Hi! Can a firefighter flip a fire marker to smoke if this token is adjacent to fire? Can the turn end like this, or will the smoke adjacent to smoke be fliped to fire at the end of the turn (like when we advance fire)? Thanks!

Yep, you can flip it to smoke. It will not auto-flip to fire at the end of the turn - that's just when you're placing you're new smoke token after rolling the dice.

Not from that same explosion. It would just place the second cube, causing that wall to be destroyed.

What happens if you place a smoke-token on a space with either a POI or a Firefighter?? Will the victim die? Will the firefighter be knocked down and moved to an ambulance-space?? Can't find anything about it in the rules.

Hey Mari, nothing special happens in that case. Only if the smoke turns into fire do you have to worry about it interacting with one of those tokens.

Correct - players may pass. Unspent Aaction Points (AP) are saved from turn to turn. A player may save a cumulative maximum of 4 AP at the end of their turn. Take an Action marker for each saved AP. On subsequent turns you may spend these Action markers as additional AP to perform Actions.

I think this game would have been more fun with a fantasy based theme. For example rescuing apprentices from an alchemy building which is about to be teleported to a demonic plane...

That's the catch with theme. While one person would like a fantasy theme, another person wouldn't. Personal tastes will certainly vary that way.
