I had a similar problem with my 2002 Jeep GC. I bought it from a junk yard and worked out the kinks. Rekey and re ecu. Drove 100k+ before it was totaled. Will be a nice truck. Bought the car for a total of $2200 with the work and got paid out over 7000 for it. This was about 6-7 years ago.

@@gofasttuning2320 the engine was swapped, he just said that it was funny that the swap was easier than bypassing the skim issue. At no point that comment says that the two issues are related. where tf did you get that from? On a previous video its mentioned that it could had been because it had been sitting long but i think its because the previous owner lost the key and made cheap copy. The Tippum was most likely the original problem if the Locksmith couldn't do it but could go into the system. Because your jeep is a type 2 skim system and only certain programmers can pull them. I only know of 2 that can pull the correct pin and your programmer isn't one of them

Several years ago Manitoba Public Insurance had this big campaign that had every older car had to have an immobilizer installed to their car. MPI is the only automobile insurance company in Manitoba. What a scam it was. The immobilizer program has now been removed. But i had a 1992 VW Golf. They had to replace the immobilizer in the car. One of only 5 or 6 that ever failed. What a crock. Having someone cut into your factory sealed wiring harness to install this stupid immobilizer. Even cars with a factory immobilizer had to have one installed. Or you couldn't insure your car.
