Cats land another! Kentucky basketball roster & schedule updates | Sources Say

Last week it was nine, now it’s 11 for Mark Pope and Kentucky basketball. Trent Noah made the decision to flip from South Carolina to the Wildcats late last week, followed by the most recent addition of Fairleigh Dickinson transfer Ansley Almonor.
What do those signings mean for Kentucky? And what’s next for the Wildcats with two scholarship spots remaining? All eyes are on North Florida’s Chaz Lanier and BYU’s Jaxson Robinson, both exploring their draft options with UK seen as a top contender should they decide to pull out.

Everyone keeps saying " we need someone who can go and get their own shot". When I watched the highlight vids on the KSR website, I was throughly impressed by several of the current commits, especially Otega Oweh... that man can drive the basketball and get to the rim as well as shoot. I'm looking for big things from him this season!

The pitch against Tennessee is yeah Dalton was really really good top 3 player in the country but dude was double teamed all year sometimes triple teamed and they don’t have as much shooting and with us and this system dudes aren’t leaving a Koby Brea open for 3 and you wasting have to deal with teams game planning is all around you

If you don’t get Jaxson or Chaz or anyone to that caliber you need Otega to step up and be all SEC to be a final 4 contender he’s the only player on the team I think can go up 2 levels in an offseason to next season with athleticism and size if he can shoot 39 percent from deep while taking 5-7 a game and averages 16-18 points a game it a whole new team. I think Butler and Brea can all get a little bit better but Otega has the highest ceiling

So tell me, what top portal prospects besides chaz and Jaxson are going to want to come to a team where playing time is limited and there’s already people who have a good case to start in said respected position? News flash- No one. We’ve gotten all our big names besides the couple we’ve been in talk with for awhile, now it’s time to start filling in the gaps. We aren’t going to have the biggest best names on the team anymore, this isn’t the cal era anymore. If you seriously don’t want a guy who stayed at one school previously before this and averaged over 16 points a game then idk what basketball players you want. For the NIL part, maybe if you watched and actually listened to the podcast, or any source at all we are FINE on NIL. Kentucky fans alone have raised almost million dollars worth. Sit back, relax, and enjoy this new scene of college basketball.

I believe Pope will start the seniors, but he’ll make adjustments over the season to make the best possible lineups. Even if that means starting freshman over a senior. They’ll have to earn their spot through hard work and dedication no doubt. The only thing about this team is how well they come together and put egos aside. If they can play together unselfishly then the sky is the limit.

Does this take make any sense? Travis Perry was coming to play under cal, wasn’t getting playing time. Trent Noah is an obvious development piece for Kentucky, can’t be expecting many minutes this year. Collin Chandler may or may not need a year to get back into high major basketball shape. I wouldn’t expect any of these freshman to get many minutes, especially once conference play starts. Expect to see them their sophomore years. Pope will have an easier time keeping players on his rosters than cal did.
