Just wanted to come here and say great game, I hope you understand when I say we needed this. It's not to gloat it's just we needed something positive to happen to us this year. Pope is a fine coach and has done a good job, don't beat him up over this one. With that said, my son's best friend was the long snapper for Kentucky's football team 2 years ago so we have a vested interest and support UK in my house too. @ - I don't know if you get to see it from the others perspective about Cal? I've read so many comments of how it was time for him to leave, glad he left, lost his edge..ect..ect. There's a big difference in knowing when it's time to leave and leaving for the wrong reasons. My take FWIW, was it was time for a change for Cal and Kentucky. He's never said a derogatory statement about Kentucky and obviously has a great affection for the people and state. It's amazing at how upset Kentucky fans are with Cak while having an amazing season with Pope in his 1st year. We'd gladly trade records and situation with ya'll. You're not done and will go much further than we will this year for sure. Focus on that and get out of your emotions about Cal.....and WPS

Our fanbase is quick to turn on a coach when the team struggles. Keep the same energy in a loss as we do in a win. Arkansas played lights out and the coach we ran off coached his tail off tonight. Those guys had a chip on their shoulder. 3 ex wildcats showed up and fought their coach. Records mean nothing in the SEC this year.

Like Kelce, that program 70 miles away thought its job opening was prestigious too, was not a top-tier candidate. Both have done pretty good. Kentucky fanbase is like the inmates loving and turning on Cool Hand Luke. Living vicariously through these players. They're not passionate. They have no class. The fanbase up the road is all giddy over good play in an embarrassingly bad ACC. Pretty simple to explain. This game was personal to Calipari and the former players, and it wasn’t personal to the Wildcats. It’s hard to swallow when Arkansas loses to LSU, but then we can’t defend our homecourt when they come to town. And without Boogie Fland. We’ve dropped 3 of 4, and we could easily make that 4 of 5 in Oxford against Ole Miss. This team shows flashes of greatness, like against Tennessee, and then we fumble away games like Ohio Stare, Vanderbilt and Arkansas. Hopefully the team is embarrassed, but I don’t think it really matters much to them. This is just another game.

Finally, some Kentucky fans who get it. Most of them have been blaming the officiating for opponents shooting a bunch of free throws because Kentucky players can't stay in front of anybody defensively. Tennessee bricked 3's all night and the story was not guarding the 3 point line was a brilliant strategy. Arkansas got anything it wanted on offense for 40 minutes last night. Once they made a few their confidence went through the roof. Kentucky might have helped jump start Arkansas for the rest of the league schedule. If they can go 6-4 the rest of the way to get to 8-10 in the league they'll make the NCAA tournament.

Arkansas played their greatest offensive game all season long, and Ark had a greater chip on their shoulder. Liked the attitude of the team in the first half. Missing Lamont hurt us bad. Wagner would have never gone for as much as he did in the second half if Lamont was on him. We weren’t able to make the defensive adjustments in this game that we wanted to and unfortunately we had too many turnovers and missed critical shots. It has to start on the defensive end. We’re giving up too many easy shots in order to keep the pace up, but HEAR THIS. Kentucky will go further in the tournament then ARK, if they even make the tournament… BBN hear me, we will be alright.

I love our team and our guys but I do feel like most of our guys now only have one aspect to their game. They can hit the three. Those 3 players scored over 50 points tonite. Wagoner had the night of his life, so did Z. Arkansas played the best game theyve played all year. Kentuckys point guard play maker is out with injury. Our 7' center is our playmaker. Karr has been hurt and slowly coming back, he was a main stay healthy. We don't have ball handlers so we are creating too many turn overs 14 tonite. This tea m, what is left of it is tired. Playing people that would not be playing. all this considered, we have no worries. Arkansas was healthy, they've rested all year for this game, Kentucky is hurting and short, they ve had a successful season. Pope is just beginning a long successful career at UK. calipari was bought by a couple millionaires to buy arkansas some players. I'll take our spot they can keep cal.

Arkansas played over their heads today and had best game of season. Cats continued a pattern of melting down in the second with turnovers, missed free throws, and not matching the offensive out put by opponent. This is the 4th time this year that this has happened against a team supposed to beat.

Wasn’t aware they score more efficiently against zone. This game was more personal for three of their starters and we are down two starters and backup pg. I want to see more of tonight’s Amari Williams. Less turnovers, keep improving on defense and get healthy. It’s a tough league no easy games

@ good point. We have seemed to have a bit more fire lately. I was surprised at cal out coaching pope though. He put on a clinic tonight. Hopefully this game will spark the hogs to a few more wins and a tourney birth. Hogs do have some talent. Good luck rest of season.

not sure what his mindset was with playing Chandler 17 minutes. He is such a liability on both ends of the court. He has not played 17 minutes total all year and drops 17 against this game. I get we are not at 100% with the yearly injuries we continue to have year after year, but Noah has been playing really well and did not even see the court???

The short answer is, butler was the team captain and he’s now not playing. And he’s probably not going to play another game. So he’s having to retune the guard rotation and teach the guys how to draw things up on both sides of the ball. And that’s what lost the game more so than anything else. Lamont butler is the most important player on this team. He’s the engine on both sides of the ball. I know ark was with out fland but butler is the floor general and his defense sets the tone. And I feel for coach because it’s probably his biggest investment that he’s lost.

UK is one of the most compelling teams to watch this year when they are the underdog. When they are supposed to win not so much. That does not bode well for the early rounds of the NCAA tournament. They need to learn how to expect every team is dangerous and break this before they find themselves down as a 8 seed.

Pope is a nice guy and a good coach. But doesn’t get into his players enough, doesn’t have enough passion to get his players riled up for lesser opponents, that’s why I believe he will never have much lost season success. By the end of year 2 fans will be over it. Bye bye pope.

This SEC season will continue to be rough with Auburn, Ole Miss, Bama, UT...This is one we needed to not hurt the resume. Yes we have great wins but also bad losses. And its a pattern.

Here is the crazy reality: UK (15-6, 4-4) has just 2 more conference wins than Arkansas (13-8, 2-6), just 2!! The Hogs could conceivably finish ahead of Kentucky by the end of the season.

Down Butler makes a huge difference….not having out team at full strength sucks. Pope maybe being a bit tentative due to the injury bug. If we can win SEC title and make a deep run I don’t know that anyone really remembers this.
