When the graphic novel was being written, the writers didn't realize that they were foreshadowing Rorschach's death until Chapter 4, I believe. It's when they realized his refusal to compromise would result in his end. It was a bittersweet moment when he was killed, but it had to happen. And it still makes me sad.

Ugh, Zach. He didn't just "find this hood". He made it. He cut the fabric out of a high-fashion dress that some rich lady had commissioned from the warehouse where he works. She sent the dress back because she thought it was ugly, essentially discarding it, but Walter saw its beauty and kept it. He sewed it into a mask himself because he's a tailor, which is dope first of all, and secondly it's all super meaningful in context of his character

I really appreciate how Snyder stuck to the premise of it being a Period Piece centered in 1985: Haley’s rendition of Rorschach really gave it that extremely dark, gritty, no bullshit flavor that was juxtaposed to all the “Sex, Drugs, & Rock n’ Roll” ethos of the overly-materialistic and disengenuous “plastic” nature of the Reagan (Nixon Era* lol) from a corporate perspective (which dominated all aspects of American life in New York unabashedly back then). Believe it or not, Rorschach’s like a Conservative / Punk Vigilante Extremist and all of that paradoxically makes him both so beloved and distinct from any other character in the Superhero Film genre: I ADORE the character so much!😊

@philipmarie1854 I did use complete words, but had to go back and re-edit for length due to this idiotic character count limit. Rorschach was amazing, and I even liked Dr. Manhattan. However there were moments, like the idiotic love making scene set to Hallelujah, and Rorschach's breaking out of prison with waay too much pointless fighting that took away from the film. I'm hopeful about MOS but not optimistic. Snyder is no Nolan, but thankfully Nolan is overseeing MOS so hopefully it'll b good

First. . . . . . . .from my perspective Rohrschach did not sacrifice himself, he was killed. The dude that killed him chose to kill him. Like in that bar scene when he LET The Comedian kill that mother by not stopping him. What kind of peace is peace if it is based in lies? Put truth on the table, and go from there. I will always prefer truth.
@CuRd0G11 жыл бұрын
While its arguable that he sacrificed himself, i personally don't believe he did. If he did, then he did it knowing that the journal he sent to the new frontiersman could very well accomplish his purpose of revealing that what had occurred was veidt's fault.

most psychiatrists agree that psychopathy and sociopathy are essentially two different terms for the same thing (antisocial personality disorder) some say these two terms are different subcategories of ASPD and psychopathy is more hereditary than sociopathy, but it's generally agreed upon that they are very (if not completely) similar either way, rorschah is neither a sociopath nor a psychopath (nor does he have antisocial personality disorder) trust me, these are psych classes talking :-)

@snakesfinnimore Agreed, the sex scene was supposed to be intentionally awkward and ironic, and if it had went any other way I would have been disappointed that Snyder had missed the point of it happening in the GN entirely, and went for cheap fanservice. There is an interview with Patrick Wilson that discusses it, and its significance to their characters, in fact. In the GN it was certainly as important as any of the other details and symbolism that Alan Moore used.

Not true. Some of the people who thought the movie was bad were people who loved the comic more. When they see something that has been etched into their imagination for such a long time be played out in a manner that they did not imagine, it simply brings with it a feeling that this isn't the Watchmen that comic book fans can enjoy but the Watchmen that only movie-goers can enjoy.

brenda walker No, Rorschach is more insane than Deadpool. Deadpool is more or less a joker, he's not so much insane more as he just doesn't care, and gets more cocky and arrogant. Rorschach however, has morals that he follows to a T, he isn't afraid of killing others just to follow them, he also cannot feel like himself unless he has the mask. Rorschach multiple times in the book/movie gotten his answers by just going up to people and killing/injuring others, cause he's cold blooded, but calculated. Also he's not the most insane character ever made, but more so one of the most, if not the most insane hero/anti-hero characters to ever be made.

@phemyda9415 жыл бұрын
I hate the way people keep using the word "psychopath" on Rorschach without knowing what it means... psychopaths are charming narcissists who manipulate people to suit their own ends with no regard for morality, often victimizing others simply for their own enjoyment (the Joker in Dark Knight is a perfect example), whereas Rorschach has a very definite moral code which he adheres to "even in the face of Armageddon". True, he's disconnected from reality, but he's not a psychopath or a sociopath.
