Ive had this watch for about 5 years now...... it will never leave my collection. I no longer even look at "sports" watches due to this watch crushing everything else imo. It dresses up on the fine link bracelet, steps down to casual on a shell cordovan #8 strap and even goes full work horse on a nato. One of the best pieces you can buy. I do have a couple of nitpicks (crown seems too long and it wears thicker than it really is). Everything else is top notch. Sinn killed it with this watch. I am a profession delivery guy so I use the bezel quite often- and that bezel action is fantastic! I wear it playing golf as well, I use the bezel to keep my over/under par score.

Slow bonding may be due to the price tag but also because it's such an austere design (even though it's darn beautiful, if you ask me). That sturdy reliability will certainly make you bond with it more and more over the years, I'm sure. Happy birthday, btw!

Great watch, I’m saving for another one of these. Yes another one, I left it in a brothel after my shower in Sydney Australia. When I called the brothel the receptionist said she checked the bathroom and it wasn’t there. The lady of the night stole it unfortunately :( lesson learnt I only wear casio watches to the brothel now.

Beeen watching sinn videos for a few months, i finally pulled the trigger on 556i today. Sinn It really grows on me. Just so many people admiring this brand. Was really confused between this and the 556i. But I just need a versatile tool watch amd this case was almost all polished so suspectible scratches while the 556i is satin finish. Nevertheless, really come to love sinn watches.

You're the guy I've been looking for. I'm getting a 104 I St Sa on H-link. The only question, and it is one I am very split on, is: classic black or that beautiful anthracite? 🤷🏼 I have plenty of black dialed watches currently, and think the sunburst grey would look outstanding, esp outside in natural light. But, IDK, the black looks really proper, too! Like, I could see the grey looking slightly odd IRL (?) or looking completely amazing. Black is a known quantity +which to an extent is why I have several already). I'm into the subtle contrast between dial & bezel/date of the grey. Normally, I'd get both and "plan on selling" the I one I liked less it mod it (if these were AliX clomages, Orient's, Seikos...no prob). But with a $1K+ proper legit piece, I can't afford that ludicrous process. 💸💸💸 I'm leaning toward grey, can't F this up. Thoughts from an owner?

You described the bezel clicking perfectly. 👌 I love my Sinn 104, micro scratches and all! I’ve since ditched the factory leather strap and rotate through a bunch of nylon, silicone, and even cork straps! The Sinn 104 is such a versatile watch!

I posted a similar comment on another video in the KZbin world, but I felt it was worth breaking out again here. I bought this watch mainly due to all the KZbin love and spending too much time every day debating what Sinn to get. The U-Sinn watches match my taste more but the price didn't match my desire to own one. I got a 104 on a beautiful grey suede strap and the dial has a grey starburst look. The watch is absolutely striking in the box and holding it in the sunlight. Gorgeous watch. My only dislike is how easy the bezel moves. It just misses something on my wrist. Out of my now 112 watches (without doing a real count) I have about 50 I would wear before putting it on. Plus I don't want it to get dinged because as soon as I opened it I had this sense I would flip it one day. I have my eye on a new Omega Aqua Terra or a Breitling Avenger. I tried both on recently and those have given me an itch. My Sinn is a good candidate to move due to the ease it will sell, the money it will bring in and the fact I never wear it. I hate the idea of not seeing it in the collection but it's too expensive to just be box candy. Congrats on the birthday watch! It is a beauty. I wish it matched my wrist the way it looks off it. I hope you enjoy for many years!

thx, nice. got the same design scheme of the 104 a couple of weeks,ago to reward me for some very tough time of my life. I like the watch very much. One thing: if you are not wearing it daily - winding up and setting day/ date is not that slick "sexy" as it should be. Got my first scratch also - dont dare to wear it in the garden! When you just want to do one little thing - than it happens: you scratch the Buddha while cutting off some gras around it... Also do like the dark brown antique leather bracelett with the stitches. Nice. The original brown leather vintage thing was also sexy, but very hard to wear - due to sharp edges on the arm side... 😅 15 years ago I got an EZM3 tool diver watch. Its much more technical/ industrial - tool like. It got a lot scratches meanwhile. But I will also keep it, it reminds me of my home area around Frankfurt/ Ger and experiences I faced in those old days 🎉😅

Great video sir. I bought the same Sinn, I feel exactly the same as you described. Funny, the watch is so good and well made yet has a bit of “meh” to it. I do still have mine (my most expensive watch) and will probably keep it, it’s hard to beat for daily wear. I still find myself meandering around the back streets and looking at less expensive watches. In fact, I just purchased 2 San Martins to test drive…why?! Anyway, I am a huge Seiko diver fan boy since my first in 1983, it still runs beautifully! I have even wondered into the Vostok Amphibian world, fun and solid watches, “good cheapness”. The only way I can describe the Sinn 104 is….it’s so good it’s boring? Weird. Oh yeah, now eyeing a Squale 1545 classic….can’t beat that design in 40mm! Also, I will buying some of your straps 👍🏼. Cheers!

So, how has the bonding gone so far? I own this watch and for a very brief moment during my ownership I contemplated selling it (because I had found the perfect GADA watch without a rotating bezel, thinking I didn't need it anyway). But that thought flew by quite quickly and now I am convinced that it will never leave me. I wear this watch pretty much everytime I go to the gym, for a swim, on a hike, paintball match, anything that could inflict some beating on this watch and you know what: it handles it perfectly. It's perfection. I will keep wearing it with great joy in the years to come!

Within the last few weeks Dan I ALMOST bought the exact same Sinn model! I have a few flieger watches, some quite new & a few vintage; circa 1940’s. But competing for my attention also was the Hanhart ES 417! I’m a huge Steve McQueen fan. All of a sudden Hanhart do a reissue of a 39mm 1954 model, which Steve owned back in the day. Slow bonding? I'm 1👀% insta-bonded precisely *because* of the 'function dictates form' design. I'm a big Bauhaus design guy, though, so big surprise this one speaks to my soul. Really -like- love those bold, deliberate angled lugs and the screwed on, protruding countdown bezel. (Chef's kiss) Edit: Happy 40th birthday. I've been considering getting myself a Sinn 104 on H-link (black or anthracite 🤷🏼) for the same reason, this video is just nudge I "needed." TY for posting 👍

Thanks nice review. The aluminum bezel I wouldn't be worried much about I'd be much more worried about the AR coding on the top of the crystal. I hope you didn't pay full UK retail... I've been looking at a Sinn 556 (mother of pearl) and a Doxa sub 200 (aquamarine). Both are around £180-200 more expensive than the Euro or Dollar price!
@EVil-ob8in2 жыл бұрын
I would not disrespect your birthday choice as each to their own, but I never bonded with this watch. The all polished surfaces cheapen the watch and the bezel would rock very slightly by pushing down on it despite none of the screws being loose. Got rid of it
@rodneykinnaird41742 жыл бұрын
i have heard it said that the sinn can rivel some of the big boy brands
@Cosmystery2 жыл бұрын
I bought a sin 556 about a year and half ago and its the most I've spent on a watch. Unfortunately, I just dont really like it or ever choose to wear it out of my other watches that are similarly priced (but still cheaper). I will wear my fortis pilot classic over it any day of the week or if I want something different than that type of look then I find myself going for my ball fireman enterprise.. both of which I just find have way better fit and finishes... meaning the watch fits my wrists better even though I have smaller wrists and the literal materials and feel of both of those is superior to the sinn.. so unfortunately im just not sold on them when there are so many better options. Still not a bad watch, but meh.
@jipke2 жыл бұрын
Isn't that partly because yoy already own watches within the same category (pilot/field watches)? Perhaps if it was your only watch you might get more enjoyment out of it, knowing it can undergo any situation.
