Thank you for doing this review. I knew about this company when I first started collecting but forgot about them because they are rarely reviewed. Imagine that, two good watch companies in my own backyard. 🇨🇦

I'm a bit divided about this watch. I like its overall aesthetics and the fact that it's a slim solar quartz. The black dial with orange accents just works with the green strap. Yet I wish it was a little bit smaller
@watchmewithwatches4 жыл бұрын
I agree, what size would be the sweet spot you think?
@AlexanderB.4 жыл бұрын
@@watchmewithwatches Something between 39 and 40 mm I reckon.
@karlsenula94954 жыл бұрын
@@AlexanderB. I'd say definitely 40 but even 41. 39 imo is great for a classic dress watch but you want slightly larger for a field watch ... also obviously depends on your wrist size - mine is 7.5 inches so even a 42mm would sit well on mine (I have larger that don't really bother me, Cadisoak - the original big one, original Pagani 43mm Hulk and a flieger 44mm).

I've got a couple of Momentum watches, and they really are superb. Fantastic value.

I love Momentum's customer service as well. I have a GMT watch from them that I sent in for a service. They'll extend your warranty for a year or 2? if you send it in before your warranty expires I think. Anyway I sent it in to get the battery changed of all things plus I found out they'll upgrade most of the watches they sell with mineral crystal to sapphire for a very reasonable fee. I was so pleased with what they did that I purchased their Fieldwalker Automatic watch last year. That's a great Auto for the price. So I've been twiddling my fingers thinking of getting a Steelix from them for years now and now with the solar version I think I might take the plunge in the new year. Thanks for the review.👍 Oh and FYI to anyone thinking of purchasing direct from Momentum. They offer great deals on their site for days like Fathers day. I got my Fieldwalker for 30-40? percent off on Fathers day last year. So if they have something you like but its too expensive for you check in at their website or sign up for their newsletter. You might find a deal you can't pass up latter. Also coupon codes lie happyb-day (10 percent off) usually work year round so googling some coupon codes before you buy will pay off if you are not purchasing around a holiday.😀

I wanted to get one but i am still on the fence about it being a 44 mm case and 51 mm L2L. I love the way it looks, i also like the solar version. But, i ordered a Steeldive 1940 steel case, as it is a better choice for my wrist at 39mm and 48 mm L2L, if i remember well. Maybe i will get one of these as well, as i really love the look of it. Great review, as always!!
@StefanBacum4 жыл бұрын
@@tonyxxx9463 Yeah, i remember the 38's, but dont ask why, i think they look a bit more "childish".. Eventually i will get the 44mm variant, but right now i am excited for 2 watches, the Steeldive '40 i ve mentioned and my Swatch Irony will return to me with a custom made strap which i ve been waiting for for 3 weeks. The Steelix can wait a bit :))
@duckrutt4 жыл бұрын
The SD1940 is a nice watch, I've got the older ('older') sword hand version. Chucked a black date wheel on it and it looks great. The crown could be a little bigger and stock strap is stiff enough to slice bread but that's an easy fix.

Oh how I chuckled when you introduced mminch 🤣! “Puts it about a bit”. Great review Dan and entertaining as always 👍! The specs on this watch are very impressive for the price. Possibly only solar divers for Citizen could compete but then you’d have to forgo the sapphire.

I very recently started watching your channel (subscribed I promise haha) because I mostly collect funky Timex pieces, old and new, and you had a great honest review on the Marlin. I just bought my first Momentum watch and you have one of the few reviews of this watch brand on KZbin! Thanks for the Canada love too by the way, as a country we're suckers for compliments... individually not so much. Wishing you much success with this channel!

Wow! I have a SKX which I bought modded quite cheap, for the purpose of further modding (my first modding, had to try that). I'm getting the parts piece by piece. But the funny thing is that it will look VERY similar to this one when I'm done: The bezel, dial, hands and of course this Momentum has the crown at four o'clock like the SKX. Obviously I think this field watch looks great! The "making your own hole" on the strap was a fun little feature as well. Great specs for the buck IMHO.

Fantastic look to it - love the color combo ... not your standard field watch. Going on the list (although I'm still on a bit of a Steeldive binge right now).

It seems to tick all the boxes for a good field watch and solar is good. I have two solar watches and they are awesome. Not quite sure about the arrow/hand pointing to the date window?? Looks like a mini GMT hand. Dan, I'm getting a bit worried about Sid. Haven't seen him in any of your videos for a while. Are you feeding him enough flies?

Well, sid is getting dangerously large to the point where I get concerned for our safety. He may need to be released into the wild

There's something about it that's quite appealing as a grab n' go tool, i wasn't expecting to like it at all ,i agree there is sort of a caricature of a watch about it but it works well legibility wise,i can see why yr into it.

So, a Citizen Tough watch met a Rolex Explorer(ladies model), at a bar. One thing led to another, and roughly a year later, they gave birth to this watch. In a way, it has elements of both parents.
