dan989 I personally thought all the voice actors read their lines terribly overall. I just don't understand how people can trash the current voice cast, or even the Sonic X voice cast, when the Dreamcast/Heroes/GBA voice actors were much worse. They didn't even sound like they were acting, they were just reading the script out loud, without putting any emotion into it.

To be fair, Sonic Adventure was the first attempt at voice acting for the Sonic franchise, so it was expected for it to get much better. True, the original actors could have delivered their lines better than they did. But as for their voices, atleast they matched the characters well. I don't trash 4kids or the current actors. I welcome most of them as fine replacements. All of the 4kids actors were good. As for the new ones, Rouge's past two voice actors were better imo. I think they try to make her sound a little too seductive now. Shadow sounds like an old man now. I know he is chronologically 50+ years old, but he doesn't physically age, so he shouldn't sound like that. And let's be honest, Jason Grifth and Ryan Drummond were better voices for Sonic than Roger C. Smith. I agree with you that people shouldn't bash the new actors. There's nothing wrong them; they're doing a great job. But the original actors definitely weren't the worst.They had more awkward deliveries but it improved considerably with Sa2 and Heroes. Even, more recent Sonic games have funny dialogue at times.
