Charlie Sheen's and Melissa's death I get, that was wrong. But here's the thing people forget to understand. If you can't come up with any reason for a character(s) to be in the show anymore then you either write them out or kill them off. Yes, don't kill them off for stupid reasons but also sometimes we gotta except that we can't have everything we want. People keep forgetting that major people die as well as minor and bad people. Same as our life. I learned that in January when someone close to me died.

Once Upon a Time - killing off Baelfire/Neal. The whole reason Rumplestilskin went through years of putting together the everything needed to create a curse that would send him (and everyone else in the Enchanted Forest) to the real world was to reunite with his son & repair their relationship. But a trip to Neverland to save Henry, Neal's son from his great-grandfather who then followed them, resulted in Rumple's death & then Baelfire being cursed trying to bring his father back & in order to save Baelfire, Rumple joined them together, but once separated, Baelfire would die. Another would be the weird decision that the only way for everyone to return to the real world because of the Wicked Witch, was for Charming to sacrifice his heart for the curse, with Snow deciding to split her own heart to save Charming. They just made so many bad steps with the show, (like pairing Emma with a guy who treated her like a trophy, threatened to kill her family, flirted with her mom in front of her soon after they met, among many other things (some I saw, some I only read about)) that I quit watching at the end of season 3.

The overall treatment of Jason Dohring having to do the media tour alone to promote the show that he was killed off from just enraged the fans further.

@dhenderson18107 ай бұрын
It's just a fictional character.
@Thundarr1007 ай бұрын
It might have been traumatic, but Glenn's death was necessary. It's how Negan was introduced in the comics. Granted, he did kill Abraham earlier that episode. However, they had already given Abraham's comic book death to Denise, so he was on borrowed time anyway. Killing both Glenn and Abraham was both unexpected and source accurate (people who have read the comics first would have been expecting Glenn, and been surprised by Abraham). Now, having Carl kill himself later in the show pissed me off. He stuck around much longer in the comics. They had to give some of his scenes in the comics to Henry and Judith in order to incorporate them into the show. But killing him off was a dumb move.

@@Thundarr100 It was just not the violent aspect of the scene, it was also because before that , people where fooled by a the facke death of Glenn in season 6 when he was in fact hiding under a dumbster trash. Then that season end with a cliffhanger as they didn't know who Negan kill and then after Abraham , Glenn die anyway. As for Carl's death, it was indeed beyond stupidity and not even Henry or Judith could fulled that void which is even more sad. Judith is a great character but she doesn't really have her own story development, she seems to be just there to replace Carl and unlike him, her role seems secondary until the final in season 11.

Okay, no offense for Glenn fans, I loved the guy, too. But his death? It was gonna happen anyway. Sure, the quality of the show slowly went down once Negan came on, but it wasn’t because of Negan himself or Glenn getting killed. It was the depressing writing that was taking place during Season 7. Hell, if anything, Negan himself was the best part of the Savior War seasons. However, if you wanna talk about the death that totally messed with the show? Hands down Carl's, no question. He was not ever supposed to die. Ever! Like the comics ending as well as what Negan said, that kid was the future. The only reason why he was killed was because Scott Gimple, the show runner at the time, had somewhat falling out with Chandler Riggs over minor BS. And because of that, it also led to Andrew Lincoln wanting out of the show, hence Rick's sudden departure a season later. And because of that, the whole storyline for the last few seasons really derailed compared to the source material. So if you wanna thank anyone? Thank Scott Gimple

My best example is an anime series "Fairy Tail", Laxus is a very strong character who will end you in 5 seconds yet he gets taken out at the very beginning of every major battle and you don't see him again for another 100 chapters, yet the weakest has one fight early on and is done for but somehow has enough stamina to fight 3 more powerful enemies, on deaths door again and does a victory pose at the end.

I’m a massive fan of BONES. I can not describe how much sweets dying affected the show. It is when I gave up on the show. Season 10 sucked. Bones was already in decline after season 6. His death, Zach’s return, and Hodgins becoming a parabolic was the death Nell for the series. If not killing it

If Walking Dead hadn’t been on this list I would have been floored. The show honestly should have ended when Andrew Lincoln left. It never felt right after.

That's when I stopped watching. I stuck through it for all the other deaths but, to ME, Rick was the anchor. He was there from the beginning and tied everything together. Once he was gone... that was it for me. I heard they brought him back recently, but it's too late for me to get interested in it again.

There were THREE notable murders by the Saviors that should have been avenged. Glenn, Abraham and Denice. Ranked in that order, maybe. The losses might have been worth it, if we'd gotten our REVENGE. But instead, we got to see Rick become Negan's b!tch. The pussification of Rick is what ruined the Walking Dead. I won't waste my time watching a show with a poossyboy as the "hero".

Glenn's death was to push Maggie into wanting to start the war and the actors all tried to think of ways to spare him but it just wouldn't work for the story. Carl's death hurt the show way more since that literally was the last straw for Andrew Lincoln and a LOT of fans quit after that, way more than when Glenn died. Carl's demise literally changed the show forever in many ways and he was so integral to the story that they had a couple of characters try to fill his comic role like Henry and Judith, but the show really fell flat since he was too important.

Honestly I'm gonna say you missed Buffy with the death of Tara! It brought in the phrase of killing your gays! Plus they ruined a really good story arc with Willow going evil by only limiting it to one episode!

Killing off Logan on Veronica Mars deserves to be on this list. I guess it was conceived by showrunner Rob Thomas as a means to open up the show for more potential seasons on Hulu as Veronica isn’t supposed to be happy or something. Instead it just pissed everyone off and killed off any desire to watch any possible new episodes.

The original Roseanne series was going to end anyways with or without Dan, because most of the cast wanted to move on, even the network ABC wanted to end the series to green light Disney produced shows. Also Lost went downhill in season three with killing Eko and Charlie, that’s what really hurt the show! And Brian’s death in Family Guy doesn’t count, that’s was jumping the shark, the show was already unwatchable by that point!

I’m sorry WHAT? Y’all really said Supernatural should have ended at season 5?? Yes, we were all super bummed about Bobby’s death but no, fans did not want the show to end at season 5. I mean, when it finally ended at season 15, most fans have already been asking when it might come back. They also STILL do fan conventions that are packed. Lol, maybe research what the fandom thinks before you make such claims. I’ve never heard of even one actual fan saying any of this. 😂

Some of these sound like they are straight up from hellers. Also I remember Isaac Hayes left because South Park made fun of Scientology and Hayes is a Scientologist. It’s why Chefs’ death was done in such an over the top and final way.

@@calzone3843thats not true either. Chandler Riggs' father was a hostile negotiator... and believed that since in the comics Carl becomes the main character that he was deemed unkillable... and thus played hardball trying to get more money. This has been long since documented and proven to be true.

Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! 15:18 While "The Simpsons" is known for its humor and satire, I believe the death of Maude Flanders served as a catalyst for character development and story progression within the series. It allowed for Ned Flanders to experience grief and struggle with his faith, which led to him becoming more relatable and complex as a character. Also, it provided opportunities for other characters to step up and support each other during difficult times. While it may have been shocking or upsetting at first, the writers used this event to enhance the show's depth and emotional range. And, that being said.. I think it was absolutely unnecessary to end her character like that. 🥶

I mean, if you want to be technical, yeah Roseanne was cancelled, but in reality it was retooled into The Conners.

Glad you mentioned Carl's death for TWD too. Glenn was my favorite, and when they killed him off, showrunners explained they couldn't spare Glenn his comic book fate, as they'd done for other characters, because it would stray too far from the source material. Then they killed Carl, and that excuse became even more bullshit. They were trying to force a "Red Wedding" moment, and that's it.

As for Lost, killing Jin and Sun was part of the plan for years. The producers never intended them to reach the end alive. Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Hurley were meant to be the last ones standing.

Not saying there wasn't much after his death, but Matthew Crawley from Downton Abbey was a hard one for me. After his death it just seemed like they were pulling anything to bring drama into the show. Like Anna getting SAed, and going to prison after the man that did it dies. That storyline was so unnecessary.
