Context matters. If you are doing blackface to play a character or a Halloween costume its fine, if you are doing it to mock then its wrong. If you are quoting someone saying the "N-word" then its fine but if you are calling someone that then its wrong. People need to grow up and stop being so thin skinned. Getting someone fired because they have a different opinion than you is pathetic.

Usually, people don't complain about blackface in very old audiovisual productions, they just note the fact and its historical circumstances. People do criticize contemporary people, and specifically politicians, who are too unaware of the historical meaning of blackface, or don't care, or try to justify it, or say "get over it," which is whatever case is not a recommendation letter on their education or intelligence levels.

I am 100% with Conan O'Brian vs Jay Leno. Jay Leno is over-rated, he stole two shows David Letterman, and Conan O'Bians show. Leno only became popular because Johnny Carson let him do his comedy on Carsons show. When Leno was host, he rarely (if ever) had comedians on his show.
