Correction * One Eyed Willie found them, and had them stored safely with himself and crew on his hidden ship where they could've remained forever.... but Mikey just *had* to swipe them! I mean he saved the homes of his family and friends, which does seem heroic. But that allowed them to be placed back out into the world and subsequently, the universe, making them free for Thanos to collect! And we all know what happened after that 😔 Natalia and Tony's blood is on Samwise Gamgee's hands.

Know I'm a bit late to the party... but there's an easy-in for a PREQUEL, involving the parents -- there's even a blurb when Bran points out that (paraphrasing) "everybody and their mother went out looking for it, when our parents were our age..." Come up with a good prequel, and a sequel, involving the original crew's kids w/ cameos from the OG Goonies and you potentially have two easy-win blockbusters -- presuming the story is good.

The man has no less than _SIXTEEN_ works in progress of some sort _right now._

If memory serves, there was some sort of legal issues going on with the Goonies, I think it had to do with a rerelease/remaster. I remember reading that Jeff Cohen ended up getting involved and was one of the lawyers involved to help settle things, and get the project back on track (from a legal perspective)

I do remember how much this film was hyped up prior to release. It's a good movie but the other Spielberg produced film 'back to the future ' came out shortly afterwards with far less publicity and blew this film away. The cindy Lauder song was played a lot on the radio but deservedly was not a hit, but hey they had much better songs in the charts then.

It just goes to show how convincing Ramsey's acting was, in that she was a sweetheart in real life, yet tended to play grouchy old women. She played a similar character in "Throw Momma from the Train", as Danny DeVito's grumpy mother.

I. F*CKING. LOVE. THIS. MOVIE. SO. MUCH! My older siblings bought the VHS and I remember always watching as a child. This is probably my most nostalgic non-Disney movie. LOVE!!!!
