Bleach was always bottom of the rankings in Jump and wasn't even mildly liked in comparison to the west. If you factor in Japan it's absolute garbage compared to long running and beloved series like Detective Conan/Doraemon for that matter.. What exactly about that was 'great?' All I saw was another slapdash cheaply made cashgrab trying to coast by purely on nostalgia and empty fanservice.
