The first and second seasons were AWESOME, the third season was interesting cuz we finally got to meet the Author, don’t remember much of the fourth one, and I stopped watching at S5. Not gonna lie, the CONCEPT of the Dark Swan was really cool, but the execution was just really bad. AND THEY DIDN’T NEED TO ROPE MERLIN INTO IT! A&E totally screwed over the Arthurian mythos. And they were totally capitalizing on Hook. Ngl, I initially thought he was cool. But over the seasons, he was just whining for Emma’s (and, by extension, the audience’s) attention.

I love How I Met Your Mother, it was an awesome sitcom. But man, its finale was a gigantic middle finger to all its fans. Robin and Barney should have stayed together, and Tracey shouldn't have been killed off.

100 percent agree. I only watch the finale with the alternate ending now. Although I didn't mind that Barney and Robin got divorced if I'm being honest. Would it have been awesome if they would have settled down together, of course but I like Barney's ending. It fits in my opinion, especially after Barney's father told him that to be happy he needed to first find the right girl, and maybe he thought at one point that was Robin, but I think it's kinda poetic that the perfect girl ended up being his daughter. Tracey DEFINITELY shouldn't have been killed off. I get that Carter Bays and Craig Thomas wanted to illustrate that death is a part of life and the unexpected is a certainty, but still like you said after sticking with it for so many years it just felt like a giant slap in the face. And what about the letting go scene with the Balloon from S9E17 Sunrise? Did that just not mean anything? I will say also I loved Marshall and Lilly's ending. Very fitting for them.

I think he and Robin were more compatible than Ted and Robin (for example, like Barney, Robin didn't want to have children). In the walking dead you're asked to believe that the dead can walk around. Does that mean those characters have to be dead the whole time to make that make sense? No it makes sense for that show. In losts premise they have an island that is magical, and it can do many amazing things. Either you accept that premise or you dont. But the ending is what the ending is, you cant change it because you dont buy the basic premise. They categorically were not dead the whole time, that's just a fact. If you dont like the show that's fine it's not for everyone. But facts are facts, they dont change for your opinion.

Agree with the "HIMYM" ending. You can't spend 9 years showing why Ted and Robin were incompatible with each other, only to shoehorn them together at the last moment. Coupled with Tracy abruptly dying and Barney and Robin divorcing after the entire season lead up to their wedding, it just feels like the show went out on a whimper rather than a bang.

If she didn't and they didnt divorce: Barney and robin contemplate leaving each other but say they cant live without each other or something. Ted's wife arrives at the end and says and that's how he met me... and kisses him Marshall doesn't get any money..😂😂

As for Walt’s powers and the mysterious supply drops, they r both explained in the Lost Epilogue which can be found on KZbin and is ten minutes long. I mean, the show is about the journey leading up to meeting the mother, so it was pretty clear that she only would play a small part in the end of the show. It was also pretty clear early on that she was dead all along. Why else would a father sit down with his kids, telling a long long story about how he met their mother? Dead would be a most likely reason. And it was about Robin all along, as the kids said. That was the creators plan all along. The "happy ending" would've made it a bit weird also. So i don't consider it bad, but having that outcome planned from the beginning and sticking to that plan surely was a risk and difficult to keep moulding the show around many years later.

Solution to how HIMYM should’ve gone. Split S9 in half and add an additional shortened 10th season. S9 covers the wedding weekend while S10 covers ted and Tracy’s relationship and his moving on from that to Robin. The problem was there was no room to breathe.

Torchwood isn't technically over, but if you are counting miracle day as the finale then i get you. I thought Buffy and Angel's finales were fine, even though Angel had to be rushed cuz he found out they were being canceled halfway through the last season's filming. Seriously CW, supernatural gets 15 seasons but you couldn't give Angel one more? Dollhouse had a slow start but was going someplace really cool, but again was cancelled so they had to finish it in like 2 episodes and it covered ALOT of ground in those 2 episodes...I don't know if I can fault show runners who don't fully deliver on their finale when they are given no time to wrap things up. Game of Thrones has NO excuses for their failures.

Seinfeld’s was so bad that I never watched a single episode ever again. Dexter’s was random and silly. And a failure. The end of The Sopranos was probably the laziest and cheapest way to go. Imagine if GoT ended with Dany going towards Jon and then it just cuts to black. HIMYM’s was a slap in the face. Lost’s was such a disappointment that I still haven’t gone back and rewatched the entire series. GoT’s was the biggest letdown, but at least they killed off Dany, so they get points for that.

While the finale of 'How I Met Your Mother' is not the ending I would have loved to have seen, it did bring the story full circle. In older Ted's mind, he started the story with how he met Robin because that is where the road to meeting the mother started(no Robin, no Robin and Barney. No Robin and Barney, no wedding. No wedding, no meeting the mother). However, his kids were also right; it was a long, drawn out story confessing his feelings for their Aunt Robin. But there’s a difference between your 'true love' and your 'soul mate'. Ted and Robin were in love at first sight, but weren't truly happy together because they wanted different things in life; Ted wanted to settle down and have kids, while Robin wanted to focus on her job and didn't want kids. When Ted met Tracy(the mother), he met his soul mate, the one person who he could truly be his nerdy, quirky self with and have his family with. And with his heart finally able to have the wife and kids he always wanted, his feelings for Robin were pushed to the VERY back of his mind. Once the mother died however, Robin came back into his life more often and therefore back into his mind. We see that Robin has an apartment in New York and once again has a mass of dogs, so we can assume that she's stopped traveling for work like she used to. Therefore, it is the perfect time for her and Ted to get together: Ted had his dream of the perfect wife and great kids, and Robin had her dream of traveling the world and becoming a famous reporter. Now that they've done the things that were keeping them apart, there's nothing holding them back from being together. They were destined to be together …just not when they first met. It's why season 9 is so drawn out; it shows just how perfect Robin and Barney are together...at that time. But when Robin gets the chance to travel for work, she puts her job before her marriage and that ultimately leads to its end. Barney reverted back to his scum-bag ways because that's his safety net; he did it after his and Robin's first go, he did it after Nora broke up with him and then again after he and Quinn broke up. The only thing able to change him for good was his one true love, the birth of his daughter. As for Ted and Tracy, sadly, 'Happily Ever After' isn't always 70, 80, 90 years down the road, and after six years, Ted realizes he is finally able to move on. If he wanted to tell the kids only about how he met Tracy, he could have started the story on the day of Robin and Barney's wedding, but instead started with the day he met Robin. 2030 Ted is retelling his entire story because he is convincing himself that, no matter how deep he buried them so that he could be happy with Tracy, his feelings for Robin are still there. And now that he is finally able to let go of Tracy(like Tracy was finally able to let go of Max), those feelings are coming back out. "Lost" isn't that bad. Au contraire, it aged well and a lot of people seem to accept it by now. Of course, there are still some, who are disappointed, and I don't judge them, but I adored it.

I wish there were more people like you on the internet! I am fine with the story of the final season of GOT, but I do think that the episodes 4-6 in Season 8 were just rushed and happened too quickly. I think that they could have easily made it 10 episodes instead of 6. I actually liked episodes 1-3, they were paced well, but after that it was just bam, bam, bam, all over.

When I was a kid I was still mad for Alf finale!!! Wtf the writers screwed up the finale and they made a movie that was horrible 😡😡😡. And now game of thrones was a disaster
