Here's one, the mental health industry doesn't want to actually help. They make far too much profits when people are depressed
@Zman904214 күн бұрын
If you’re speaking about the side of the industry that makes medications, I can agree the big companies just want your money. If you’re speaking about the everyday mental health counselors, I would argue most have the best intentions for their clients. Depression is partly chemical imbalance, part is healthy coping mechanisms. The role is more to help others understand and confront their issues both past and present in a healthy way. It’s getting to a level of maintaining rather than “fixing” because 100% fixing isn’t possible

Regarding the Iran-Contra Scandal: For those who were born after 1990, this is just one of many illegal or unethical acts perpetrated by the Reagan administration. This actually started around 1979 when then candidate Reagan, or his team, reached out to Iran to ensure the US hostages would not be released before the November 1980 presidential election. After he won, Reagan continued this covert relationship with Iran by, again covertly, arming the Iraqis and Iranians in their 8-year war. The arms for hostages part was to keep Iran & Iraq busy & stalemated in war. They hung is all on Oliver North (who did have a huge part in it), but later his convictions were reversed (as expected).
