Not defending what he did, nor do I even particularly like him but I always thought the John Barrowman controversy was kind of BS. - The incidents in questioned happened 15+ years beforehand - They were well known, this wasn't some dirty secret it was out in the open all that time and no one ever really cared - As far as we know, none of the people he bothered were even upset, there were no complaints filed, he wasn't reprimanded, all we have is Noel Clarke's anecdote, and he just found it bizarre more than anything. - Barrowman had already long since stopped doing it and had apologized years prior - It was not about sexual gratification, he meant it as a JOKE Despite all that he's retroactively branded a sex pest and gets the shaft, no pun intended, with studios cutting ties with him basically because Twitter told them too.

I've always quite liked his comedy stuff but you're right, he wasn't really that famous to begin with! Not saying he was an unknown at all but if you don't follow comedy that closely then you probably would not have heard of him. Some I can only take the word of those that are telling us that they are anything but having "Dead Careers", others I know have not, from first hand experience. John Barrowman is a VERY successful Comic book Writer now and is concentrating on that. As some say on here, the cast of Skins, most chose not to carry on and pursued other interests. I have seen Kaya Scodelario in loads since Skins ran its course. in fact I recalled 31 things she has been in over the years and since Skins and those are just the ones I can remember, so tell us Mr WatchMojoUK, just how unsuccessful does a person have to be, before you class them as having "Dead Careers". Lily Loveless has been in so much over the years, I gave up counting. Theakston preferred the anonymity of Radio, after his indiscretions, but he is a very successful Radio Presenter now. So pass how that is "A Dead Career". mallet was just an idiot, but suitable for the era and as opaqueentity (on here) states, he is now a very accomplished Artist. Jason Gardiner...?...Did he ever have a real career, to become dead in?! Darren Day...He was just a complete nincompoop to himself and who the hell misses him, other than his Mum. not to mention and as is stated, he is still working. Les Dennis...He is knocking on 70, how much recognition is he supposed to have?!! Not to mention that at nearly 70 he is still working, so kudos to him. Schofield deserves all he gets and is his own worst enemy, but again, it was his choice to vanish from our screens. Barrymore....Another one where he is his own worst enemy, believed he was untouchable and found out he was not. His career did not just die, it crashed, burned and ended up in hell....which is where he should be. The only shame about him is, the fact that at 71 he is still alive. So really we have "2" out of that lot, who's careers are "dead in the water"....so why the Headline. Not every Actor, or Actress can be a Tom Cruise, or Scarlett Johansson.

I wouldn't say Theakston's career is "dead." Yes, he's not on TV very much now but he presents a successful show on what is quite a popular radio station, so I think that's a bit harsh. "Mainstream" TV did have more reach than radio but that's a declining medium now anyway. Not quite sure Skins cast needs to be on here. There have probably been tons of child/youth actors who decided to bin off the acting. That's not the same as having a "dead" career. People get older and want to do different things. Perfectly reasonable.
