Wallace and Grommet for No. 1. Definitely well placed and well deserved. Probably the most iconic duo in British animation.

Where is When the wind blows in this list, not even an honourable mention? Its an amazingly harrowing story that really encapsulates the fear and danger around nuclear warfare. I would highly recommend checking it out if you are at all interested in British animation.

It’s a crime that Ethel & Ernest and James and the Giant Peach are both ranked lower than Gnomeo and Juliet.
@kieranstark72135 жыл бұрын
Gnomeo and Juliet is the only choice on this list I disagree with. We should always be lucky that it’s not it’s sequel, but because every other entry on this list gives the United Kingdom a top-notch track record of animation, it does look like its sequel by comparison.

@SkinnyEMedia From a young man raised in Essex and Herts., I loved watching CHICKEN RUN and JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH on repeat. I can easily quote the lines. I remember seeing ETHEL & ERNEST on BBC iPlayer and just thinking to myself that this is Britain's PERSEPOLIS or AMERICAN POP. Great adult animation! It's better than any film Pixar has come up with in recent years. Good list here. They should also mention WHEN THE WIND BLOWS, PLAGUE DOGS, SHAUN THE SHEEP MOVIE, and some of the other Aardman films too.

Where is When the Wind Blows? For those that don’t know what it is it’s a movie that was a comic written by Raymond Briggs (who did Ethel and Ernest and the Snowman and Fungus the bogeyman etc) about an elderly couple called Jim and Hilda and they are living in the Cold War since this was the 80s so Jim gets a leaflet about what to do if we get nuked and it has useless advice that the government actually gave people and Jim buys into it same with Hilda but she’s a bit more skeptical so the UK gets nuked and they followed the advice but they didn’t realise how it’s gonna affect them because they lived through WW2 and they thought it would be like that and you see there bodies deteriorate from the radiation poisoning it’s honestly a tear jerker I’d have a couple of boxes of tissues
