I've owned many of those style of bottles and the best way to open these is not twisting but tapping the stopper with something plastic like a remote control. Tap it a few times and will it just budge. 😊

Oh man, what a shame! The only way I've unstuck stoppers is by putting the bottle in the freezer and then using a tea towel to twist. But they've always been vintage bottles, a new one shouldn't give you such trouble! Looking forward to the review. So sorry for the bummer bottle!

Thanks Danielle. I have many CHANEL parfum bottles. Most bought new from CHANEL boutiques and I never had this issue before. This was a first for me and honestly, it shook me! I tried very hard to keep it classy and calm on camera for you guys but trust you me, I am very very distressed about this!

hi Super D. I had almost the same issue with Coromandel Parfum. I couldn't open it. So I placed it in the fridge and after a few hours I was able to open the cap.

I've had the same issue with one of the big 250ml Tom Ford Private Blend decanters. Force doesn't help. They told me to use a hammer on the side of the bottle where the stopper is. I was skeptical but it worked.

Same happened to me last week when I tried to open a vintage Chanel N°5 pure parfum. Luckily I managed to save about 4 ml. I feel your pain.

With new perfumes one can just repurchase them or exchange them but the pain is worse with vintage bottles! I feel for you!

I just received my bottle of Coromandel parfum from Fedex yesterday. Guess what? The glass stopper doesn’t move at all completely stuck does not budge. I twisted, I tugged and I turned. Nothing moved. My roommate tried as well. Was ready to send it back to Chanel for an exchange when I read a post on a vintage perfume blog regarding stuck and jammed glass perfume stoppers. One poster said to put the bottle in the freezer for 10 minutes. The cold will slightly constrict the glass without affecting the fragrance. Holy sh%t. It worked perfectly. the stopper twisted out with no effort. Now I’m enjoying this opulent, dense, beautiful fragrance.

I'm surprised that that happened but not much.. I witnessed exactly the same time with exactly the same product.. Thankfully our bottle didn't brake but it was very hard to open...

Oh, that was such drama unfolding in front of my eyes! Good luck with the exchange. Re: "shouldn't have to buy the creams to prolong the fragrance", I so agree. I just adore Biarritz ( we are JUST a few days into spring here), but lasts very little time on my skin, so I purchased the lotion online, they wrapped it beautifully in chanel paper and pink Biarritz ribbon, and they sent me a a free Gabrielle Essence Sample. Haven't tried it yet, look forward to the review of that one when you have a moment. :)

The only reason one should buy all the body perfume products is if one loves them on their own which is what I do with some fragrances like N°5! I love the N°5 body range on its own, without necessarily having to wear the N°5 perfume the same day I use the N°5 body products. Oh and GABRIELLE ESSENCE review is coming very soon! xoxo

@@SuperDacob Oh, yes I agree. I love to wear the Chanel no 5 dry body oil on its own, it has SOME gutso on my skin and I find it unnecessary to layer it with the parfum. Unfortunately my beloved Biarritz ( on my skin) needs a bit of help ( and I meant to say a lemon Biarittz ribbon in my previous comment, not pink- that one came with my Paris-Riviera). I loved the CC scarabs you placed nearby for good luck, I was told by my grandmother that she believed them to be good luck and she gave me a pair of fabulous Scarab earrings, that DID give me good luck the nights I wore them.. The COROMANDEL SAGA continues soon! You know, when you return a faulty bottle or such, they usually open a new one in store in front of you and check with you that the new one is in top shape but I want to unbox a new one for you guys in a new video so that will take some extra negotiating in the boutique, to make them give me a new sealed bottle... oh boy... this is causing me quite a bit of stress and I sweat a lot when I am stressed... such a mess. LOL.

I'm sorry for your loss :(. Never had such a problem (from opening vintage pure perfume of no. 5 from the '80 up until a recent batch of Allure Sensuelle) but I'm always vary of opening a new bottle as the force needs to be with you to do so. Hopefully it's one faulty bottle, lét us know how the staff reacted.

Thank you dear but I can assure you that this is a very rare production mistake which does not occur often! I all my many years of CHANEL collecting have I never encountered such a problem with a pure parfum splash bottle so lets see what happens when and if I finally get a new bottle. If it will be flawed as well...

Its a production flaw. The stopper was slightly wider than usual stoppers and when it was placed in the bottle and sealed, it was so tight that it created a hermetic tight closure which would not be openable without braking the bottle.

Dacob, sorry this happened! But to be honest, watching this video actually reminded me of when I broke my Chanel “miroir double facettes” as I was dining with my relatives at Christmas. Being from southern Italy you can imagine they all got so scared by the “7 years bad luck” that they had to throw salt all over the place and reflect the moonlight with its pieces; maybe they would practice rituals for a Chanel fragrance too! Hope everything goes the right way x

When I saw the video title, I thought that the perfume was a dud, that they had done something to ruin it! What a catastrophe and I hope that Chanel replaced the bottle for you. The catastrophe was not your fault! Having said that, I am very inspired by this video. I need Chanel soap and I NEED the Bois des Iles Parfum! Friday afternoon! I hope that my bottle does not crack. That is no joke and I am glad that you did not cut yourself. You could have ended up needing stitches if you had cut yourself.

I will try. All depends how it goes down tomorrow when I take the bottle to exchange it. Its one of those delicate moments where a bad experience can really damage one's desire to have anything to do with that particular product any more... I had all planned out and ready for a great trip down COROMANDEL land with all three concentrations and stories... oh well... it'll have to wait for now... lets see how CHANEL deal with this tomorrow. I hope they will exchange the bottle without any doubts that I could have had any responsibility in the bottle cracking. These are always delicate situations and I just dread situations like this one! Very frustrating for me...
