I like how even in the context of this hateful video, 'Carrie' has zero problems with her two 'mommies'. 'Carrie' did not ask for help, there was nothing about her being upset, nothing about her being sad she doesn't have a father, or badly raised in general. All she said is that her mums were married to each other, and only that when asked, she didn't even bring it up herself. This video isn't just teaching kids to preach when asked an opinion, it's teaching them to straight up shove their unwanted, unasked for opinions down the throats of others. Any kid who does this in real life is just going to end up friendless.

What's upsetting is that when the subject was brought up, the teacher tried to normalize it because she recognized that Carrie having 2 mommies was not the norm in this classroom, meaning that she could be the target to bullying. However, Sophia's mom basically told her to bully a kid! Like, Carrie is not even the gay one, and she has no control over her moms' sexuality!

Thank you so much for this video. JW is too, the religion on my birth and getting out was the hardest thing I've ever done. As a little child, I was taught to be homophobic and bigoted. I used to feel ashamed of that, but I don't anymore. It wasn't my choice to be indoctrinated. They ruined my life and even though I've definitively been an atheist for more than 4 years, I'm still not over everything I've been through and my hate for JW. Today I support LGBT people so much and the people who are either gay, transgender or what not and born into religion and then get out and stand by who they are, are SO STRONG. I admire those people so much. Getting out of a cult is hard, but there is life on the other side. Keep up the good work :)

Here's what I don't understand about the anti-gay logic: If you are a straight person then you know what it is like to have 0 attraction to someone of the same sex and usually that would mean you find the thought of romantically being with someone of the same sex very unattractive. Thus how could you think it is a choice to be gay rather than straight? Would someone just wake up and say "Although I am strongly put off by the thought of it, I think I am going to try and force myself to be gay for a while and see how that works out"?

Take that same logic, and subtract out attraction, and love. Subtract Sex, subtract any romance. Only hand holding if absolutely necessary. Then ask the question again. Remember: Straight people had the same issue with the same people, because they wanted: love, romance, attraction, and sex for pleasure in their marriages. I think it might have been called the sexual Revolution in the 1970s. I'm Christian. My reference is strictly for context and understanding of the mindset differences.

Watching this video reminded me of something Hitchens said a few months before he died. The God of the Bible is a cruel character, he makes us objects in a cruel experiment in which we are created "sick" and then commanded to be well. All the while demanding uncritical praise & swift to punish the original sins with which he so tenderly gifted us with in the first place. This is not from the Watchtower. This is from someone else. Men having sex with men, and women with women, IS condemned in the Bible. Try reading it once in a while. It's morally debased conduct and not natural. True Jehovah loves everyone, but certain actions he hates, and that is one of them. I remember how obsessed they were/are about LGBT etc... 40 years ago during Wimbledon fortnight walked into a brother and sister's house (they were good friends....) and the sister was watching the tennis. It was a women's singles match and i commented that:- "She's a pretty lass..." to which the sister snapped back at me:- "SHE'S A LESBIAN!!!" I didn't, sadly, have the presence of mind to point out that the two things were not mutually exclusive. Anther time I happened to mention that two doors down from me there were two elderly gentlemen living together..... Her first reaction was :- "Are they NORMAL MEN??" It's not homosexual PEOPLE that we hate at all. Rather, it's homosexual ACTIONS (acts of homosexuality) that we hate. Understand? Consequently, there was a time years ago when I did smoke. If you like the Old Testament so much, I suggest you re-read the passages on the Prodigal Son. He was welcomed home by his father without question. Not because the son felt bad about what he did. Not because he asked for forgiveness. Not for any other reason than he was hungry. The father welcomed him back because he loved him. Any religion or so-called God that breaks up families is breaking the most sacred thing in the universe: the love between family members. The love from a parent to a child, especially, should be unconditional. I'm going to end my comment here, since it's quite late where I am. I'm having real problems with a JW member in my team at work. So basically, I'm a gay guy, out to friends and family and close co-workers. This particular JW co-worker is spewing his anti gay rhetoric on an almost daily basis. I've tried for so long not to let it get to me, but I'm so close to breaking point. I really don't know if I would have any luck with raising a grievance against him, as he's not aiming any of his views at me particularly, since I haven't told him of my orientation. I feel like he will get away with anything as his views are based on his religious beliefs. This guy is batshit crazy. Your videos are really opening my eyes to how backwards they really are. I think they may help me with defending myself from any indirect abuse he tries to give me, if/when he ever finds out about me. Thanks!

I watched this when it 1st came out, but revisiting it today, I noticed something important from the get-go. It starts with an empty classroom and the noises of the kids playing outside.....except for lonely Sophia, who isn't allowed to enjoy playtime with her worldly (evil) classmates. Instead, she waits alone in the classroom, which allowed her the time to notice this "other" family portrait. Sophia must have been shook! But anyway, how sad is it that Sophia is stuck in a cult, without her agreeing to it or understanding it, taught how to preach at school, rather than go outside and play or have any friends at all. Destined to a life of fear, inability to develop real relationships with others who aren't sitting in a KH like zombies, and a lack of any opportunities for advanced education or career goals. One can't help but feel pity for a cartoon character, because sadly in this case, art does imitate the real life of JW children.

You have the best JW videos ever! It's so weird....as a kid growing up with JW parents/family I played along (what else could I do) but I also questioned a lot of things, even at a young age. Why can't women lead prayer? Why are women supposed to be subservient to their husbands? And what about the images and messages in that Paradise book? Geesh, thanks for all the nightmares after having it read to me at bedtime! That being said, I have to credit my upbringing with my love of research on ancient civilizations, public speaking skills and that the experiences caused me to look deeper and question everything I was told was "true"... something that is a large part of my life today at 57. So, do you think the level of fear-mongering and indoctrination among the JWs has gotten more intense in the past few decades? I know I can hardly have a conversation with my aging father because he's become even more biased then ever and insists bringing the whole Jehovah thing into our conversations. I am just glad I survived that experience and was able to move on...

I too was born into being a JW. My mom was a single mom that had been told by them while she was pregnant that if she didnt join them that my life would been doomed to hell. We left when I turned 10.

I remember having a Jehovah's witness friend in elementary school. She invited me over to do homework and play one night. when we were reviewing each other has homework I realized she didn't have any sentences at all. When I tried to explain to her what a sentence was, her grandmother thought it meant putting a capital letter at the beginning of a line and a period at the end of the line. My tiny brain couldn't handle that much stupidity so I asked if we could go play. Her idea of play was sending all our Barbies to hell. It was pretty messed up

Is anyone else kind of surprised at the production value on these? I haven't stayed up with JW's releases for years but I remember a while back when my parents (still JW) showed me the more scaled back version of the literature they had switched to (thinner paper, less content, etc), I thought maybe they were going bare bones. Now that I've found this channel, however, it seems to be the exact opposite. I never thought I'd see them modernizing like this. Maybe it's just me getting older and not staying up-to-date. On a side note, I loved how you continued with Genesis 25:6, Genesis 46, and so-on. It's funny how Christians pick and choose from the old testament to fit their narrative. If something is barbaric or immoral by today's standards it's "Well that was a different time and culture. We aren't under these same laws and restrictions," but when it fit's their current belief system it is used as a citation.

If everyone was gay there would be no human race. So at some level it is logical that the concept of homosexuality is condemned for the survival of the species. Also if your children are gay that means your genes wont get passed on to the next generation. Not that I condone homophobia, but that is probably part of the reasons why.

WhiteScorpio2 Humans obviously need to have sex with the opposite gender in order to reproduce. Yes I realise nowadays you can use artificial methods, but I'm talking historically. Plus if only artificial methods were used the population would still probably decline. Also you could argue that it's selfish of gay couples to use such methods anyway as they are intentionally depriving the child of half its genealogy and the chance of a balanced upbringing with both a mother and a father which is still proven to be best. So again a dislike of homosexuality in society is somewhat warranted.

You don't need a modern clinic to have an artificial insemination. So no, if everyone were gay, human race would still survive. You should concede this point. Also "if everyone were gay" is an empty point to begin with, since there is no reason why everyone would've been gay. That's like saying "If everyone was a carpenter we would have no farmers and die from hunger" and basing your hatred of carpenters on that. That's, forgive my frankness, a moronic point. Now, about "depriving child a mother and a father". Is it better to just deprive the child his whole existence? Homosexual couples do just fine about raising children. Definitely better than single parents do and much better than orphanages do. Honestly, living without both a father and a mother isn't that horrible that the child shouldn't exist at all. That's also, should I say, a rather strange and illogical point. But these things you mention don't seem to me like the basis for a hatred of homosexuality. They sure don't warrant people being harassed and offended or even killed or children being thrown out of the houses. I still see no alternative but to blame religions like Christianity or Islam for the spread of homophobia.

I didn't say I hated gay people, my other comment is actually the highest rated on here *defending* homosexuals. I was just trying to think of possible reasons why they are or have been histrionically in relation to the original question. Yes you can say through religion, but if we assume those are man made, why did that paradigm ever come into existence in the first place? So I would say its probably through evolution, as its natural to socially condemn any behaviour that may threaten the population of the species/tribe. At a subconscious level anyway. Seems like you are just being pedantic, would our ancestors have a greater chance of reproduction using crude artificial insemination techniques or by having regular heterosexual sex? Yes if everyone was gay and using insemination the human race may still have survived, but I seriously doubt it would have been nearly so prosperous. In your example, yes if people were starving and in desperate need of farmers then people would have a 'hatred' towards those that weren't contributing to what's most needed. That may explain why people are generally more accepting of gay people now since we are becoming over-populated. The 'better to deprive the child a whole existence' point is a bit philosophical with many possible tangents. I do see what you mean though, but to me it does seem selfish of homosexual couples to artificially have children (adoption is different) as they are intentionally setting out to deprive them of either a mother/father and is all a pretence. I've heard the same thing from gay people too so is not homophobic.

I've seen a bunch of these on Telltale's channel and just now, watching this one on yours, I noticed that in the bit of animation featuring the fellow dropping his duffel bag in the purple place outside of the colourful spot with the yellow filter on it and run along through the gates separating Purple Filter Land from Yellow Filter Land, happily unfettered by whatever ungodly stuff is in that bag. You have to look at religions such as the JWs from a broader perspective. Religion is there to unite people. It's there to bring peace to conflicting ideas brought about by a clash of cultures. That's why there's faith. Faith serves the purpose of keeping the peace among people by offering a utopian world where all problems will eventually be solved by a higher power. Faith and religion offer you a comfortable life in peace. Now, it's obvious that the Christian religions come from a different background than, let's say, the Islam. The Muslim belief was established in a different context, which is why it differs so drastically from Christianity although both are based on the same foundation. If you look at other belief systems such as Buddhism, you will find a different story. Religion also creates really strong emotional bonds because you frame certain people as your allies and other as your enemies. Now, in the old times, people felt they were entitled to just kill people from other beliefs (unless both cultures were equally strong and people realized that fighting wasn't a good idea, which then leads to a mixing of belief systems or to religions giving up their right to kill the opposing religion). Since the enemy is way too strong, you can't just go around killing people of differing beliefs. You need to make a compromise. That's when the mind starts to play a huge role because, now, you live in reality but in your mind you are far away in a distant utopian world. So, in the end... Everybody who thinks killing is wrong, will have to use their minds to deal with this emotional conflict. Faith can be really strong, or let's just call it imagination because that's just what it is.

Hey, this was a great video! I'm actually Christian myself (liberal-leaning Protestant, and VERY pro-LGBT), and it really does sadden me to see those that call themselves "Christians" to spread such hateful messages and bigotry. I might be understanding if they DISAGREE with homosexuality, but a line is definitely crossed when bigots attack the people themselves. I've also heard of the Uganda situation, and was incredibly disgusted by what these radical "Christian" evangelicals did. My church may spread the word of God, but they don't spread HATE. They spread their message, help those in impoverished countries, and tell them that Jesus, the Son of God and part of God Himself no matter what the JWs want to say... Jesus loves you. Straight, gay, bi, whatever. That's what these "Christians" should have done in Uganda. Not advance an agenda.

Yes, not only are children part of the religion as they are expected to play more of an active part in it than in a lot of other religions. For example, they are dragged around knocking on doors- pre-COVID, at any rate- regardless of how dangerous this may be; are expected to convert peers at school which is a sure way of becoming immediately ostracized (and I wonder if this is not deliberate); are even told they should give their ice-cream money to the org.

When I was a JW I was so homophobic. I actually cringe at the way I used to think and talk about gay people. Funny that as soon as I stop, I stopped thinking in that way. Even when I was one I could see how people were being brainwashed. I was nearly brainwashed. The money they get in donations goes into hiring out massive arenas for their assembly’s. for fuck sake they hire Twickenham to do it. Do you know how much money that would fucking cost. Thats the best way to get them to stop calling on you. Theyll list you as a DNC. A "do not call," when it is clear you dont want to 'hear the good news,' and refute every point they make with facts/statistics. You could also just lie and say you have a relative thats a jw and the resisdence should be listed as a do not call. That also will work, it indicates you all ready have a link to the religon and you're actively choosing to not follow it. They cant risk wondering why not, they wont risk anything to cause doubt. Saying "Im not interested," isn't enough. They just take that as if they havent given you the right "good news," to get you interested.
